As much as our medical and rehab teams are maligned, when it comes to knee reconstructions I have a lot of confidence in our process. In fact, I can't remember the last time a player from Collingwood had an ACL graft fail. (Both Macaffer and Berg did their opposite knees).
Yeah sorry Apex it was a cheap shot by me. Some of your fellow supporters should realise they cant come here and troll.

You dont either does toxic. Good luck to the lad

How unprofessional that our club put a players health and career ahead of some short term success .and what a waste of a pick if he only plays 10 to 15 VFL games this years. With our top 4 spot on the line

I may not have the full context of this comment but this would have to be one of the dumbest calls I've seen.
Absolute majority of saints posters are sensible and have great points but this post taken on it's own is complete bullshit
Probably a dumb comment, got the shits with a certain pies fan who's hovering around hoping that freeman tears his hammy off the bone, hope scharenburg overcomes his injury problems and has a great career

isn't their a melt thread on the pies board about their fitness and medical staff :p:p.

yet were just delusional on the topic :p:p

Yup. They poached Bill Davoran from us a couple of years back. He's done nothing positive since he began at the Pies. I'm fairly sure he has experience in female triathlon S&C & now he's turning the Pies players into female triathletes with James Aish leading the way.

Rubbish. His offer was based upon playing games. A low base which he wasn't happy with. Where do you get your news from? Bigfooty? But if that makes you feel better, yeah ok, the Pies offered him more because 'tests' had come back positive from St Kilda. Great tests huh? I've heard it all now.

I think you'll find it was very much a money factor. 300k is good good money for a kid who hasn't played a game and by all reports Collingwood wasn't close to that unless he played. With Alan Richardson pretty much saying he won't play at all in 1/3 of his contract then you can see why he took the safe $$$$.

I dont know why i waste my time, but let go through some facts.
Freeman tore his hammy in a nab cup game playing for collingwood - Fact
Freeman then proceeded to go through surgery and recovery, whilst still at Collingwood - Fact
Freeman then started complaining on complications when striding and accelerating - was advised there was nothing wrong by his Collingwood medicos - Fact
Played a handful of VFL games and continued complaining of this until he came off midway through his last match - Fact
Freeman then had more surgery to clear up scar tissue around the original injury - Fact
Freeman came out of contract and was then low balled on his next contract - Fact
Freeman and Stkilda both met and an extensive physical was conducted - Fact
External specialists looked at the results and confirmed his issue was fixable - Fact
Collingwood, upon hearing of our interest increased there offer - Fact
Freeman still advises COllingwood he is rejecting there offer which was in fact more then Stkilda's offer and asks to be traded - Fact
Whilst waiting for a trade to be completed, Freeman trains at Seaford on his own - Fact

Summary;
Your club tried to tell a bloke who just suffered his first major injury that there wasn't anything wrong with him, then proceeded to conduct further examination and found further issues. Your club then low balled a player you just tried to force back into games and training when he was telling you he wasn't right with a much smaller contract then his current one. You then back flipped when you heard of our interest and tried to then outbid us.
Your club screwed up, the only person you guys as supporters should be upset with is your football club. Not Freeman, a kid who just wants to make a career for himself. But hey blind loyalty and all -which dont worry i understand, i am just big enough to say "hey i was wrong" when i am.

anyway carry on...

A similar scenario to Clinton Young leaving the Hawks for a guaranteed $300k PA then spending most of it injured or in the VFL then?

Save you breath with facts Stav, if it wasn't in the Herald Sun then it's obviously made up.

A bit like the Luke Ball scenario. We all know that the Collingwood approved version that appeared in the HS was the truth, the whole truth & nothing but the truth.

Looking forward to the next Collingwood youngster destroyed by Davoren who looks to greener pastures.

That was a lovely post and all, but I'm not sure why you quoted my post given that Freeman's hamstring and its management has diddly squat to do with Scharenbergs knee reconstructions!

i quoted your post as your another collingwood poster on our board. so i just quoted you to set the record straight.

Given that quite a few of those 'facts' are dubious at best (although some are on point), I'll take it with a grain of salt.

At the end of the day, there are very few pies supporters who feel our medical department isn't responsible to some extent for Nathan's issues, and nearly everyone on the pies board believes that Davoren is wholly responsible for his initial injury, so I'm not sure what your post actually achieved aside from preaching to the choir regarding our soft tissue injury management. Honestly, I just wish some of your boards posters would keep guys like Scharenberg out of the conversation. He's had horrendous luck with his feet and knees, and all criticising Collingwood for those injuries and rehab does just shows a lack of awareness over his situation given he's had no complications within any of his rehab periods.

I'd prefer if there were no pot shots thrown at either of the two boys honestly, but it's bound to happen in a thread like this unfortunately.

Unfortunately in a situation like this people want to blame someone.
Crazy thought, but maybe Freemans hamstrings are just no good?

Yep, a lot of opinion being written as fact.
I love the intimate knowledge of contract and money, as well as private conversations between Freeman and club staff.

stavro#4 has posted things that only someone on the inside would know many times, he knows what he's talking about.

That's an incredible achievement. Mine just looks like a shrunken hairy walnut.

Any chance you could post a pic? Is like 3D Mt Rushmore, or more like Mt Rushmore viewed through one of those ultra wide-angle lenses where everything looks spherical?
Please Sauce, no pic.

Whatever is seen cannot be unseen.

The factuality of your last statement is highly debatable. You have no evidence for it. After all, you have never been wrong. ;)

This guy has proven to be itk

It's far more accurate than those Pies supporters who say Freeman moved for money.
