I'm not sure of the rules around stretchers. If the trainer calls for it, play has to stop right?

You'd think if it was deliberate cheating Sinclair would have allowed himself to be carried off rather than jump straight up and jog off.

It wasn't really in open play. The Brisbane player had to ball in front of him about 1 metre from the boundary with McVeigh hovering over him.

You got a stoppage that is fine. It was rolling around in the F50 anyway no one had a clean disposal.

Play is stopped weekly for injuries. It wasn't the only one in all likelyhood

Common sense should prevail, get a stretcher on and if play gets close umpires call it - Simples. Any other proffesional outfit would've/should've done the same as Sydney given the rules and time remaining.

Pretty ridiculous thread...it seemed for all money that he had done an ACL and was a still lying on the ground when the stretcher came out. If anything, the umpires made a mistake in stopping play straight away instead of letting the ball go out of bounds first.
