North v West Coast at the MCG?

Might as well make some room in the premiership case down at Arden Street.

EDIT: Sorry, forgot we don't play the MCG well.

Tell that to everyone who watched the Essendon, Geelong and Richmond finals? We play the MCG well. We just never get to display it.

North Melbourne footballer Ben Brown takes stand against domestic violence

NORTH Melbourne star Ben Brown wants more men to stand up against domestic violence.

He believes it’s how society can come closer to eradicating the scourge that saw 37 Victorian women killed last year alone.

“We’ve all got to play in a team on this issue,” the Roos forward, 23, said.

“The more men we can have putting their hands up and acknowledging the problem with domestic violence in Australia the more it becomes a movement and we can prevent it.

“We’ve all got to get together and stamp it out — it’s too much of an issue in our society now.”

Brown and his girlfriend Hester MacKinnon will be at the Safe Steps Candlelight Vigil on Wednesday night paying tribute to the women and children lost to family violence.

It’s a small way they feel they can show their support and try to make a difference.

And while not personally impacted by family violence, it’s an issue they both feel strongly about, particularly after spending time with former Australian of the Year Rosie Batty and hearing her story of losing son Luke.

“In Australia, we’re losing one woman a week,” Ms MacKinnon said.

“It’s an absolutely absurd statistic.”

“Every time you read a story like that, it does strike a chord,” Brown said.

The Safe Steps Candlelight Vigil will be held at Federation Square on Wednesday from 5.45pm.

Dwayne is a flog but makes a valid point, we win it now or not for another 20. They don't give out finals wins just ask Richmond. They don't give out prelim wins as we know. With a very good team coinciding with the apparent fall of others this is our chance.

A long way to go but the players need to make it there own this season especially the 30+ brigade who you would think will be playing the last season all together as one, come 2017-18 there will be changes. Own it.

Will we fall a few rungs in the next year or two? Absolutely?

Will we bottom out never to be seen again? Hell no.

Our age profile is good enough that with some shrewd use of free agency, we could probably go back up quickly, and at worse still hover around the bottom part of the 8.

Seriously, it's another bullshit media line trotted out by the media that people swallow hook like and sinker, but someowho how forget that Hawthorn and Geelong ever existed (by constantly trading/picking up established players and not developing their own)

You still doing round ups of the shows GR?

Don't blame you if your not.
