Rumour Jack Watts off field issues.

Can confirm from a source close to Watts that he they were definitely sent by him. Photos were snapped off his laptop by the woman he was cheating on. If you’re going to cheat, don’t link your iMessage from your phone to your laptop.

Reduce the size of the MCC reserve

It’s not too big. It’s a matter of utilisation by members. They need some sort of system on game days that allows members to see how full the reserve is. I think a large number of members would have given it a miss because they simply thought it would be too busy.

Review Dees v Eagles & the Ghost of Murray Wrensted: Good, Bad & Fugly

Much like the Tiges last night, you unfortunately had a bad game at the worst possible time. And much like the Tiges, it’s not the way you deserved to end the season because your best football was so far above what was dished up this arvo. However, unlike the Tigers, you have a young squad...

The absolute state of Channel 7 commentary

Rewatching the game now, it’s horrendous. Cometti was really the only one who made the Friday coverage bearable. BT is very often wrong in the player he’s calling or what’s actually happening in the game (he can’t seem to tell when a shot at goal is or is not going in) and Bruce just gets...

Why did the AFL introduce free agency without trades that do not require player consent?

NFL and NBA clubs are generally franchises owned by individuals and they are run like businesses. The ruthlessness is not uncommon or unexpected. We’re wedded to the vestiges of the games roots - the suburban clubs and the fact that players used to be loyal to them and play for the jumper. It...

Autopsy 2018 1st Qualifying Final: Richmond defeats Hawthorn

Oh and defenders spoiling with 2 hands all night - why? You don’t have to be Mitch McGovern, but at least bring it to your feet or over the boundary, not into the corridor.

Autopsy 2018 1st Qualifying Final: Richmond defeats Hawthorn

They were simply too good for us. We cracked under the pressure and played into their game. The conditions probably only helped that for Richmond. Onto next week. Hopefully Strats pulls up ok.

Has the top end talent of the league declined?

We’re seeing teams that dominate now have ‘systems’ rather than out and out star power, and the teams that win will always have more chance of loading up the AA. Richmond, Hawthorn and Geelong typified this style

Mod. Notice 2018 finals ticketing - update (10/9): semi-final member tix on sale now (AFL members tomorrow)

I had this too. I even experienced the crash during the payment process. After a mini freak out I decided to check my email and the confirmation had come through with tickets attached. I was bloody relieved as I was buying for 5 other mates! I hope those who missed out have better luck and less...

The most important home and away game of 2018, hidden in a shocking time slot

I’d argue Sunday arvo is the best viewing time slot. You can be productive in the morning, go to the game and be home in time for dinner.

    Old man shouting at cloud

There really does need to be some acknowledgment from the AFL that this is a contact sport, and players have some duty of care to be responsible for protecting themselves. There are going to be instances where players are going to be injured by other players, just by the nature of the...

Review Dees v Geelong @ the Handbaggery - & Prada in the Sky with Diamonds: the Good, Bad & Fugly - Rd 18,

Hawthorn of old definitely lost to Geelong this way on a number of occasions. Watch the last 5 minutes of the 2012 game when Hawkins goals from 55m out after the siren to win the game. We shat the bed. Geelong have their ways.

Such a humble and grounded champion. I’m glad we got to watch him, and even more pleased it was in the mighty brown and gold. He’s moved on for the right reasons, he’s been away from his family for a long time, and I’m sure he’ll go on to do amazing things back home. He’s established a great...

    Your three favourite opposition teams

That was really tough, but I could only bring myself to select two: - Dees - proud club with a long history that have suffered for a long time. Demetriou vs Gil

I’m sorry, but there needs to be some level of responsibility on the clubs for most of what you said there. Not every rebuild is going to be successful, and the clubs need to take onus for that fact. If they don’t get it right, they can’t turn to the AFL and whinge, they just need to go back to...
