New to this guys, but just want to throw the name Callum Bartlett around in the thread, watch a bit of the Lions Ressies up here and has a sweet left foot, plenty of smarts and I would think well worth a rookie spot. carved up in Sundays NEAFL Grand Final and has spent four years in system...
Smart move by club and list management team. Think that Jacobs will come into mix and if we can't land Hickey then it could be an experienced type like Seaby on the rookie list for cover at not a huge expense. Plus we still have the fallout from Cruize, Thomas and Pedersen to come so we could...
We are not the ones trying to recruit him, and it appears you have placed a value on him, don't think Geelong will be able to dictate their best scenario!
Seems to me it was Geelong who put him through the medical, I think it will be a player and 2nd rounder, or straight out 1st rounder, Rivers is the key, as it depends how desperate they are to get him after landing McIntosh
Unfortunately we need to explore all options and find role players around Wells, Cunnington,Bastinac, Harper, Goldy,Thompson,Grima and Petrie. We don't have the clout of the bigger clubs, so pulling left field deals and complimenting these guys is essential. Blokes like Gillies, Russell...
Package them up as a deal and take to the market. If they don't want to be here then so be it. Zac Clarke also worth a look, and so is Dawes, good role player and would play Hansen role with the three man set up, unfortunately we look like too late
I was at that game, he tore it up, he had run 100 metres at full tilt with I think Kretiuk absolutely mugging him and launched himself like Mark Waugh. I was living in Tassie at the time but made it a habit to fly over and watch him play.
Another memory that stands strong is at a sportsmans...
As a first time poster on this board can I make a couple of observations,
1. Hamish is still under contract
2. Geelong need him, West iffy at best, Vardy untried, Stephenson, Simpson are long way off
3. Hamish really has to take what is given to him
4. here are other options out there eg...
Ipswich actually believe they have a lot of improvement left in them, and that the fact that ten new guys played, and another six in this week, it will take a little time to gel together.
Add Bartels, Lincoln, Gillespie (will kick a lot of goals), Rantall, Brereton plus a least half a dozen...
Mighty I think that forty odd shots to six was a pretty fair indication, plus the heat really took its toll.
On a rough count there would at least eight to ten players missing from the Eagles side, plus a couple of young guys that will play Rd 1 were in twos to give them a run. Having seen...
Biggest problem with it from an Ipswich point of view is that we are scheduled to play at 12 noon at Moorooka. A lot of guys working in morning, or have families did not make it viable from what I'm lead to believe to push for a ressies game. To that end our Ressies play Yeronga on Thursday...
Cheers Morro, may have been a bit tongue in cheek!
We like to keep it quite down here, club going through a bit of a culture shift, blokes working bloody hard on track, really seems to be a bit of steel in group.
Recruiting is going well, some suprises I think with some pick ups and the walk...
Great to see new thread underway.
Just like to put to bed a nasty little bit of heresay on the old thread,
Ipswich Eagles are up and about, and looking forward to the 2012 season. Have really good numbers on track, a really keen coaching crew on board and have some handy pick ups to come in...
Ipswich midfield is a pretty young group of guys, they had Luke K and Rodders back on weekend to add some experience, plus they have three or four to come back over next few weeks, so signs are pretty good for the Eagles.
Think others on here may be suprised when they see them in action...
