and the people at the club who told him it would turn around.
with our list on the park at the moment it is a joke that they can still be below us with so much assistance.
I didnt mind Taranto but it just felt over the top going for that second midfielder on a big money long term contract. Hopper was hardly a name that is bandied around when talking about the top players in competition.
You dont get anywhere by paying overs to get quality into your side
I need thirteen years to get a like. Yes I am still alive today to accept the kudos.
out of curiosity, what had you going through posts from 2011. All good, when Richmond struggles we tend to do those things
Losing Rioli and Baker for draft picks would be to reverse the trade of getting Taranto and Hopper.
Since Rioli and Baker are a better duo than Taranto and Hopper, i would be wanting higher draft picks than we gave GWS.
They say leave the game alone
Why not leave the jumpers alone.
Im old school where wearing the same jumper every week really worked and never presented a problem.
Dont know if we will get much out of Prestia going forward. He has been great but I heard he wanted to move back to Queensland.
I would liked to have seen a trade done over summer to get us back into the draft.
Relevance to this thread is that he left the track early. Might not be much in it...
As to that 1987 game against Sydney, Terry Wallace was a player at the club at the time (one year) but was out injured or for maybe another reason as he wasn't too popular there as a player.
Anyway the game was showing on the television in the Old England pub and Terry Wallace walks and takes...
I was excited when Terry Wallace joined us as a player from Hawthorn in 1986. Couldn't replicate his Hawthorn form in his one year with us and then was very good at the Bullies.
Thought Phillip Walsh was worth getting excited about when we got him after his stellar 1983 year at Collingwood...
i don't expect Yze to get a honeymoon start to the season.
Not a bad thing as often things fall of a cliff after the honeymoon. (im not married so im not referring to my own marriage here)
I admire him for taking us on as I don't think we are an attractive proposition for a first time coach...
Yep that was nearing the end of one of our worse seven year periods of all time.
1986-1993 was bloody awful. Add to that the tin rattle in 1990.
Got to give Northey a lot of credit for lifting a team that must have been bereft of confidence
under Northey, Scott Turner became a top full back...
By the same age Maurice was killing it for South Fremantle when WAFL was almost as good as VFL
He had also smashed Jacko in the boxing ring. That dope is a huge man so I consider that to be very impressive on a number of levels.
You wont get anyone as good as Maurice unless you have draft pick...
Went to that game.
Was also the debut for the new MCG scoreboard with colour video.
The equally legendary Andy Preston would have debuted.
Remember Phil Egan kicking the ball the wrong way.
Give Yze a year with him and delist if there is no improvement.
I'm hoping that Yze has that horse whisperer quality that can salvage something from our seemingly lack of excitement within our younger group of players.
Yes how many phone calls would you need to make to find out that some other clubs might have an interest in Clayton Oliver coming to the club if gettable. How many players not even at his level would fall in that category.
Click bait is non apologetic
Clayton Oliver may be on the move is the headline
In the article it says..
It is unclear if the brilliant midfielder would be open to any move and there has been no indication Melbourne would be willing to part with him.
Wonder how AFL players feel when reading...
Looking forward to who Yze thinks should be captain.
Why couldn't it be him?.
Neither Nank and Grimes are right for the job and that will stick out like dog balls to him.
I agree mate. it is bigger than any individual in the game even someone with Barassis enormous credentials.
Must be some other way of doing it. Its more appropriate for a medal.
Norm Smith Ron Barassi medal would be more appropriate but it becomes a bit of a mouthful and Norm Smith...
If Grundy goes to Sydney do you guys want to get a player from them or draft picks
Still being in the window (I dont think its a question of whether you are or not) with one of the most talented midfields in the competition would you want to use it for a ready to go forward. Might not be a...
We do know what he said but yes we do also know that Zorko is a massive knob. There would have been bigger knobs than him running around in the seventies/eighties.
Noble looked a calm type of bloke but obviously he can tear it up a bit if he wants to.
GWS would give me a very small hope that Pies don't get in Grand Final.
If its Port Adelaide then that moronic Collingwood chant will be going before half time.
Hard to believe that I want a GWS Brisbane Grand Final.
