2024/2025 Gold Coast Draft & Trade Periods

team sport right - good players look elite in good teams. How Ollie Wines is a recent Brownlow medalist... 😲 I agree with the attractive option, as long as we don't blow our load and overpay young kids/top draft picks.

    Review Round 2 vs Western Bulldogs @ Mars Stadium - 24th March 2024 - 12:00pm AEST

defensive pressure seemed to be way off? we lost 1v1 matchups mostly in defence and forward lines. I think the midfield was reasonably even in terms of contest/clearances. Checking the stats for tackles Players with 1 tackle: Sexton, Luko, King, Ainsworth Players with 0 tackle: Budarick, Ellis...

yeah agree here. We are a very average transition/skill team from D50 I lose my marbles when we have Collins trying to deliver into the middle/aggressive kick that skillfully needs to come off. Very glaring when Weller is not around, and Luko cant get up the wings, Powell out. We're missing a...

Agree - will toast to it tonight. I feel like we win off season again - we're good at this game. Just not the March to September part... Someone do an AI graphic of Dimma and Jesus, so we're good in the 2nd half of a season and can taste some Finals in 2024.

Review Round 19 vs Greater Western Sydney Giants @ Manuka Oval - 23/07/23 - 1:10pm

no leadership today. poor in the forward/midfield and unaccountable a lot of the time. Ando, Rowell, Touk, Wittsy were getting shown up - needed to mix it up somehow. Flanders held his head high and performed well, hopefully we can keep him! Luko has had a great year. Ben King....wtf. Not hating...

Pretty ordinary press conference. last week Dew backed Bob and Mark both saying decision was made yesterday Mark go come up with a plan as to next steps How dumb do they think we are, and how dumb is this as an organisation. Give some confidence that there is actually a plan.

not entirely. It's not like the half dozen coaches were on the field - ownership goes on leadership in the middle of the ground. The whole group owns the third quarter, but everyone likes a scapegoat and single 1 person to blame i.e. Dew. What did Rowell do in the 3rd quarter? Witts? Swallow...

Any thoughts on trying to entice Nathan Buckley? Benefit there is usually a coach might snag a player/staff member from their previous club. I don't mind the Hardwick chase, but not convinced Dusty is the pinup boy we need whose padding his superannuation with Dimma.

kind of just let one go last year to the go home/mummy factor Just not sold on that yet, just my opinion. All our wins the last 2 years can't have been because the opponent had an off day. We've beaten some top 8 teams this year and been belted by some. All in all, we're just inconsistent with...

Gutted...took me 2 days to get over. Couldn't put pressure on the ball carrier, and whipped it around by hand and flew through us. Collins had a nightmare game, I don't even know what positives to take out of it? They were missing a few key players in De Goey, Sidebottom, with supposedly banged...

Feel's odd to say that Mason Cox is their biggest threat in the forward line, I'm not sure we have a matchup for him? Other than to use Ballard who is undersized and try burn the big yankee on the rebound?

I didn't see the Collingwood v Adelaide game, who or what type of player did Howe play on? Adelaide's forward line is pretty stacked, they were just ordinary against us and an off day with which we were able to punish them in Darwin.

Yeah I think that works, then Ando to the other Daicos. Mitchell v Rowell Swallow v Pendlebury If NDaicos is half back or wing, another matchup I think could be Ainsworth? Has good pace, and 2nd efforts

Couple positives leading in we have a fairly well functioning forwardline. Attention all seems to be towards King, however Luko and Casboult doing a lot of the damage. Have to reward Long and get him to do a defensive job on their best small/med forward? Don't even know who that is, they're putrid at the moment. we lost in the clearances in the middle of the ground the past 2 weeks on the road, really need to mix the midfield up because it's not working there. With a core of Swallow, Miller, Greenwood it's a heavy defensive midfield that aren't hunting the clearance, maybe Swallow to do a run with role...
