    Preview Round 7, 2024: Port Adelaide v St.Kilda - Adelaide Oval, Friday 26 April, 7.40pm AEST

Was really hoping we'd see Collard. Another sub appearance for Hastie then you'd think.

Autopsy Round 6, 2024: St Kilda v Western Bulldogs

He went to 2/33 centre bounces last week.

Autopsy Round 6, 2024: St Kilda v Western Bulldogs

Full time forward comment was made before the game. He'd barely been to a centre bounce all year so the comment was clearly accurate. Good to see he's doing well tonight. Still looks like he is pushing up from half forward rather than being a starting midfielder.

Here are Adelaide's CBAs for the year.

Autopsy Round 6, 2024: St Kilda v Western Bulldogs

Agreed. He looks badly like he needs to run around and play on instinct. A few weeks getting 30 disposals, playing with some freedom and remembering how to collect the footy with a bit more ease would do him plenty of good.

Autopsy Round 6, 2024: St Kilda v Western Bulldogs

Yeah he definitely went back in there for the second half. Was good to see. Keen to see him get a good run at it.

    Preview Round 7, 2024: Port Adelaide v St.Kilda - Adelaide Oval, Friday 26 April, 7.40pm AEST

It's a hard game to come in for, but I really hope we see Collard here with a full game. In: King, Collard, Howard. Out: Butler, Jones, Cordy. Probably Sharman to the sub role.

Autopsy Round 6, 2024: St Kilda v Western Bulldogs

Hoping that Ross starts to throw the magnets around with the midfield a bit now. He is pretty reluctant to have more than four main midfielders in most weeks. It was great last night to see Garcia start at the first centre bounce, but disappointing to see him moved to half forward 10 minutes in...

Autopsy Round 6, 2024: St Kilda v Western Bulldogs

Yeah I was opposed to it a few weeks ago when the idea started to get floated, but it's probably worth a shot. We have so little class and spark in that midfield, it would be great if it worked.

Autopsy Round 6, 2024: St Kilda v Western Bulldogs

Daicos and Ashcoft for sure. Both are young stars and are clearly ahead of Windhager as midfielders. Achcroft ACL a real pity. Hobbs certainly isn't doing it. He's closer to getting dropped than to being a starting mid. He's been to barely any centre bounces for the year. Averaging 16 touches...

Autopsy Round 6, 2024: St Kilda v Western Bulldogs

Windhager is looking very good for a 20 year old. Don't reckon there'd be that many 20 year old or third year midfielders doing better.

Autopsy Round 6, 2024: St Kilda v Western Bulldogs

Very bleak. Probably Howard and King in next week. Dow and Clark need a game in the VFL. Need to move past Jones permanently. Move past Butler too probably. Ross should only play on the wing. Development of Windhager, Garcia and Owens (not that this will happen anytime soon) as midfielders...

    VFL 2024 Sandringham Zebras

The VFL schedule is a mess. Second time in three weeks with no games for Sandringham. Poor timing with Dow ready to go too.

Preview Round 6, 2024: St Kilda v Western Bulldogs - Marvel Stadium, Thursday 18 April, 7.30pm AEST

Jones (like the rest of them) is also off a five day break. I'd be surprised if he's not the sub.

Preview Round 6, 2024: St Kilda v Western Bulldogs - Marvel Stadium, Thursday 18 April, 7.30pm AEST

Arguably the most important staff member at the club, along with Ross, is Carroll. Getting the development of these young players will either set us up for a sustained crack at success, or leave us totally floundering once Steele, Wilkie, Sinclair and Marshall are past it.

Preview Round 6, 2024: St Kilda v Western Bulldogs - Marvel Stadium, Thursday 18 April, 7.30pm AEST

The club stated following the sacking of Ratten that there had been too much of a focus on short term needs, over long term building for success. 18 months on, it is really important and good to see that this is being followed through on, to this point. While the optimism of youth can be a...

    Injury 2024 St.Kilda Injury information

Good that Henry's timeline hasn't blown out if that's the case but not really ahead of schedule when it was listed at 6-8 from the time of injury. Regardless, it'll be great once he is back. We need his spark.

    Autopsy Round 5, 2024: GWS v St.Kilda

He's not perfect, but Marshall is an incredible workhorse. 16 clearances. Thankful he plays for us.

Preview Round 6, 2024: St Kilda v Western Bulldogs - Marvel Stadium, Thursday 18 April, 7.30pm AEST

Presumably King out. Out: King, Butler. In: Hayes, Jones (as sub). Garcia to start in the 22.

Toast Welcome to St.Kilda - HUGO GARCIA!

He looked fantastic. 11 touches, 8 contested, 7 tackles and 3 clearances in 34% game time. I'd seen others make the Liberatore comparison before and wasn't sure I saw it but I did today. He has that fierce competitiveness and gets virtually underneath the stoppage. He should start in the 22...

    Autopsy Round 5, 2024: GWS v St.Kilda

Three losses by a combined 13 points. Will dictate our ladder position. Garcia should be given a month of footy locked in the team. Played with as much intensity and aggression as anyone in the team. Phillipou needs a run in the VFL once we get numbers back. Needs to develop some composure and...

    Game Day Round 5, 2024: GWS v St.Kilda - Manuka Oval, Saturday 13 April, 1:45pm AEST

The sideways chip is a Ross system instruction. We don’t have the players for that system. He must adjust.

    List Mgmt. 2024 List Mgmt

Watched the first 10 minutes of the Stingrays game on replay to see what he looks like. Peckett looks a good size. Was playing as a centre bounce midfielder. Good size. Mainly was getting handball receives and giving off the hands himself. He didn't look amazing, but it's hard to tell much at...

    Injury 2024 St.Kilda Injury information

Clark still 2+ away. Very frustrating. Dow at least has progressed a week. Will need at least one VFL game though. Sandringam have another bye next week though. The VFL fixturing is completely ridiculous. Hard to see what purpose the league is fulfilling now. Probably means we won't see him...

Confirmed Max Holmes [re-signed with Geelong through 2028]

Geelong just don't lose players like this, I reckon. Can't see him moving.

    Preview Round 5, 2024: GWS v St.Kilda - Manuka Oval, Saturday 13 April, 1:45pm AEST *GARCIA DEBUT*

I’d be keeping Caminiti in. I think he looks relatively dangerous and with King getting up the ground, the big target deep should be valuable as they gel together. King at 23 and Caminiti at 20 should be the core of our forwardline for the next decade. Sharman looked good on the wing too I...

    Autopsy Round 4, 2024: Richmond v St.Kilda

At full strength our midfield is still arguably a bottom third mix in the comp. At the moment it's probably a bottom 3 midfield. Needs to be addressed urgently. I'm a Byrnes fan, but as soon as I saw him lining up at the first bounce it was a sign that we were thin in there. He's a role player...
