Positives and Negatives of not making the finals

I think this is right. Maybe they're not receiving explicit instructions, but Subi (and the West Coast crowd) have developed a certain reputation and the umps seem to be trying to work against it.

    Season 2014 positives and negatives.

A LOT of those goals came from demolishing the expansion/crap teams

Review Positives and Negatives vs Adelaide

I liked Roo's commentary. Very fair given his background.

Review Positives and Negatives vs Adelaide

I like Hutchings. Very clean below his knees, nice kick. Butler did some nice things as well. A couple of his chip kicks over the top were great. Only saw the second half, but there was one passage by McGinnity where he spun around and hit up Kennedy. Very classy.

How much longer can Priddis be debated?

    Only saw the second half today. But Adelaide didn't look like they were putting on a heap of pressure in the midfield. Our whole team (including Priddis) looks good when we can get it out of the middle cleanly. If we could do it under pressure we'd be top 8 :}

    Positives and Negatives v Freo

McGovern was a positive, as everyone's said. I liked Gaff's game a lot. There were a couple of things Hutchings did (a couple of very good pickups, very nice short kicks and that quick snap was good) that make me think he's worth persisting with, provided he cleans up his disposal. He's never...

Preview Changes Vs Gold Coast Round 13

It seems like it always takes the guys in the media weeks or months to catch on to what people on BF are already saying.

Opinion Are you happy to have a new coach?

Agreed. He's making the right sounds in press conferences, seems to have the right ideas, but we'd want to see some improvements on-field at some point. It'll be interesting to see what direction our recruiting takes at the end of the year.

Preview Changes - Round 5 vs Port Adelaide

I have it on good authority that a large chunk of the team played with gastro. If we play as badly next week THEN let's have a meltdown.

    Crichton??

Not sure of the answer, but I enjoyed your post :thumbsu:

    Onya Woosha

I said he had to turn things around in 2011 or walk. Had definitely lost patience with the way we were playing. I take most of it back now.

On the Rise C to B

Clancee definitely belongs on this list, but I think he has room to improve even more.

Geez, football's a simple game when you explain it that way.

    Opinion Spurr

Spurr looked pretty good for someone who's still adjusting to the pace of AFL football. But I'm not sure he's damaging enough to justify selection once your young players come on. Small/medium-sized defenders really need to have damaging disposal or plenty of pace. Spurr looks like he has...

Luke Darcy/Ten Network = Absolute disgrace.

Luke Darcy is like an atomic clock. Absolutely reliable. There's never been another commentator like him. Every minute on the minute he will say something that makes me want to put my fist through the TV. And whatever he says is always in absolute conformity with whatever idiotic agenda the...

Is the jigsaw puzzle complete & if not what price to pay ?

He's kicked 11 goals in 6 games this season. He's averaged over 20 disposals. He plays midfield, whereas Cyril, Franklin and Betts spend most of their time up forward. He's in his second season. Cyril is in his fifth, Franklin is in his eighth, Betts is in his eighth. He's been very...

How is he just like Cyril, Betts and Franklin? He plays midfield.

Thoughts on Clancee's game? I imagine he must be well ahead of Crowley in Ross Lyon's thinking by now.

Midfield discussion (from the Shuey thread)

Watching the Crows/Collingwood match at the moment. Been impressed by Ian Callinan, who stands just 172cm but is a wonderful kick. Reminds me of our own Ashton Hams. Put him in the team Woosha.

Port v Eagles Full Match Replay

Thoughts: Swift shot out some great creative handballs in this match. Entries inside 50 are a bit chaotic. Lynch looks tired. Looking really good coming out of defence. Masten played a great game. Biggest issue is a gripe I had last year as well. The forward line could be more...

One player to fill twenty-two spots. Who do you pick?

I'd like to see a team of GAJs vs a team of Ryan Crowleys.

One player to fill twenty-two spots. Who do you pick?

NN has also shown that he can turn a game in ten minutes. Statistically, you'd expect at least one of 21 Nic Naitanuis to be having a blinder at any given time. There are few players who can wield so much influence over a game in such a short time.
