I think this is right. Maybe they're not receiving explicit instructions, but Subi (and the West Coast crowd) have developed a certain reputation and the umps seem to be trying to work against it.
I like Hutchings. Very clean below his knees, nice kick.
Butler did some nice things as well. A couple of his chip kicks over the top were great.
Only saw the second half, but there was one passage by McGinnity where he spun around and hit up Kennedy. Very classy.
Only saw the second half today. But Adelaide didn't look like they were putting on a heap of pressure in the midfield. Our whole team (including Priddis) looks good when we can get it out of the middle cleanly. If we could do it under pressure we'd be top 8 :}
McGovern was a positive, as everyone's said.
I liked Gaff's game a lot.
There were a couple of things Hutchings did (a couple of very good pickups, very nice short kicks and that quick snap was good) that make me think he's worth persisting with, provided he cleans up his disposal. He's never...
Agreed. He's making the right sounds in press conferences, seems to have the right ideas, but we'd want to see some improvements on-field at some point. It'll be interesting to see what direction our recruiting takes at the end of the year.
Spurr looked pretty good for someone who's still adjusting to the pace of AFL football. But I'm not sure he's damaging enough to justify selection once your young players come on. Small/medium-sized defenders really need to have damaging disposal or plenty of pace. Spurr looks like he has...
Luke Darcy is like an atomic clock. Absolutely reliable. There's never been another commentator like him. Every minute on the minute he will say something that makes me want to put my fist through the TV. And whatever he says is always in absolute conformity with whatever idiotic agenda the...
He's kicked 11 goals in 6 games this season. He's averaged over 20 disposals. He plays midfield, whereas Cyril, Franklin and Betts spend most of their time up forward. He's in his second season. Cyril is in his fifth, Franklin is in his eighth, Betts is in his eighth.
He's been very...
Watching the Crows/Collingwood match at the moment. Been impressed by Ian Callinan, who stands just 172cm but is a wonderful kick. Reminds me of our own Ashton Hams. Put him in the team Woosha.
Thoughts:
Swift shot out some great creative handballs in this match.
Entries inside 50 are a bit chaotic.
Lynch looks tired.
Looking really good coming out of defence.
Masten played a great game.
Biggest issue is a gripe I had last year as well. The forward line could be more...
NN has also shown that he can turn a game in ten minutes. Statistically, you'd expect at least one of 21 Nic Naitanuis to be having a blinder at any given time. There are few players who can wield so much influence over a game in such a short time.
