No match highlights on WatchAFL? (overseas)

I think it is only the website that is missing the highlights. My iphone app seems to have them. Still... crap :-(

No match highlights on WatchAFL? (overseas)

Is it just me or have the AFL stopped compiling highlights packages for this season on the WatchAFL app/site (for overseas subscribers)? The website and app are third rate, the subscription cost is increasing and now the highlights seem to be a thing of the past...

    Next captain options?

Fair enough and good information. I probably read too much into his laid-back style :-D

    Universal Love Brad Close

I love everything I know about this guy. Humble, hard-working, team-oriented, non-traditional pathway... but then footy-smarts off the chart, runs hard all day, great skills and creativity. Gerard Healey picked him out early on for his remarkable decision making, and I think he nailed it.

    Next captain options?

IMO, a good captain needs to have the personality and drive to lead the group, as well as the willingness to do all the external stuff. For me, that rules out Stewart and Guthrie, as much as I love them as senior players. Danger or Blicavs for 2023/24.

    GEELONG 2022 TRADE PERIOD

It seems almost criminal what we just managed to pull off, with other clubs crying and the AFL considering trade rule changes. I can’t stop smiling 🙂 As always, list decisions can only be truly judged years later, but with all the players in and out, I totally trust the club to know exactly...

Rumour GFC 2022 Player Trading, Drafting FA, Rumours and Wish lists PT2

I agree it would leak, but I don’t think it would get to that because there’s a long queue of potential trades that would be unlocked, but no time to do them. AFL want them announced early and often, I reckon.

I am thinking that, while fans of all stripes might be willing to stand on principle, no List manager would.

Certified Legendary Thread GEELONG WINS 2022 GRAND FINAL BY PLENTY

Might have been mentioned (still catching up) but I just watched the replay and as Selwood and Danger embrace, after Danger’s interview with Abbey, the two players hug and Selwood says to Danger “I promised you. I promised you”. Danger responds “You did!” Amazing how those two stars dove-tailed...

Was preparing a rant post after some really poor kicking around the ground, and for goal, in the third. Made it hard for ourselves. Buuuut, cracked in to take control late on. Solid win. Brissy are a serious team. On the plus side: Danger a beast. Sdk showing great promise. O’connor good...

"Berk" actually It comes from the Cockney rhyming slang "Berkshire Hunt" which rhymes with C... As in: "That bloke's a right Berkshire Hunt!" (Not showing off, just sharing a classic bit of culture :-) )

Autopsy Geelong smashed by Demons in PF and its gonna be a long summer

Humiliating, turgid, putrid, dumpster-fire of a performance by Geelong. Melbourne were amazing, or at least they were once we boosted them up with our awful play. Our squad is so thin on talent that it is scary. Our gamestyle is designed to protect our many weaknesses, and it habitually...

Game Day Melbourne vs Geelong - PF 2 Fri Sept 10 750pm @ the WAC OPTUS

Time for a clear out and a rebuild The paper covering the cracks in the old paper that was covering the cracks has finally disintegrated and we are left looking horrified at a brittle team of aged stars and middle-of-the-road spak-filler.

What do they put in the water up in Brisbane? Daniher has played 20 games this year, McCarthy is beasting it, and not Nakia Cockatoo is playing consecutive games and being eased into things nicely.

Autopsy Geelong defeated by GWS by 19 points

I agree and think the problem is compounded by the fact that our half-forward types are toothless. Higgins, Holmes, Close, Dahlhaus, and others, miss chance after chance to score. Very presentable chances as well!. This leaves the long kick as the only real scoring option, which as you say...
