No surprise with Claremont, Hobart and New Norfolk’s struggles for player numbers and quality no secret - must say though, I didn’t think Dodges would struggle this much at home.
That’s my point - Lindisfarne don’t have 16/18s this year and 16s in recent years as they’ve been cherry picked by Clarence at U15 age. Not knocking the Roos, they’ve gotta look after themselves too - just saying what’s been taking place.
Let me get this right:
The STJFL have allowed overage permits in recent years but have waited until the eve of the season to advise they’ll no longer do so?!
I said to a mate when Lauderdale started in the TSL - the North Launceston boys will get a shock when they see the place having been accustomed to AFL standard facilties at York Park.
Imagine what Lauderdale was like before they did a series of improvements over time!
Not sure of scores as they weren’t kept, but as expected Clarence won handsomely against Glenorchy at Pontville on Sunday. Both teams with heaps out apparently.
Gonna be in Melbourne on the weekend of May 11th and am thinking of watching a local game - follow Keilor as I’m a McGuane fan from way back, would Keilor vs Aberfeldie be a good contest? Can’t recall where all the recruits have landed, it’s Abers or Strathmore isn’t it? TIA
St Virgil’s again by the length of the Elwick home straight! Uni weren’t even close on GF day and have lost Glover and Cleary so hard to see them getting closer.
Staggering to think Claremont and New Norfolk won the SFL flag as recently as 2016 & 2017 and Glenorchy won the TSL in 2016 and now all three clubs are struggling.
Played TSL according to the Myrtleford post he’s shared. Well, he would have if he wasn’t incredibly lazy. Hope I’m wrong for the kid’s sake, but he threatens to be one of the all time great wastes of talent unless he develops a liking for hard work.
Merely saying there’s a heck of a lot of 20 year olds running around than there are 40 year olds mate. Yes there’s some old blokes running around in the OS twos, I know some myself - but my point being there’s not many.
If the Hobart Masters players wanted to play on Saturdays against guys less than half their age, they’d already be doing that. Going to the Old Scholars wouldn’t make it any easier to field two sides.
Where’s old mate’s comment that confidently proclaimed Triabunna, St Virgil’s and Huonville would all win the flag undefeated with a leg in the air?!
Meatloaf is looking for you, Pal!
It’s all irrelevant now of course but gate receipts aside, if AIA is good enough for VFL roster matches then I fail to see why finals couldn’t be played there - or a Wildcard game that some have said was technically not a final.
