Review Hawthorn v Cats - match sim - Thursday 23rd Feb, GMHBA

The probables played the game style were trying to work on attacking and using the corridor but were exposed going forward and especially on the rebound where our key skill of using a 2nd defender was exploited by not slowing them down. Regardless we didn't go defensive and kept at the game plan...

Player Watch Welcome to Hawthorn, Denver Grainger-Barras

In the future just know no one cares about fantasy points. Yes he gave free kicks away. I am not 100 percent sold on him but he is young he Is a key position player he has time on his hands to learn and build his physique. I genuinely don't even know where they want him to play? Will he be a...

Taking my 4 year old to her first footy game! She has her hawk gear ready and is ready to scream go hawks all game! Can't wait to take her and hope we get the win! Worried about Gold Coast both with their talent but maybe being use to a bit more of the humidity. The Darwin Afl games ussually...

The question is, how much are we helping GWS by taking on Patton? How much of his contract are we absorbing? Whilst we definitely need key position depth but it’s a huge risk. Who knows if our commitment to Patton helped GWS get a better read on their salary situation when re signing Cogs.

If Cogs stays, it’s obvious the afl has got involved. So now why would he announce re signing because there will clearly be media scrutiny and scrutiny from our president regarding Gills obvious tampering. So maybe GWS are expecting this and don’t want to field questions from the media once it’s...

Universal Love Jarryd Roughead retires from the AFL - record your appreciation in here

I joined bigfooty when I was 16 during Roughies debut season and loved the way he played, the glimpses of talent he showed early and inturn I created my username to show support to the curly haired ranga we drafted. Whether he played back or up forward he always had a crack. He had a deceptively...

Autopsy Round 20: Hawks defeated by Roos

How good did Wingard look when he got a bit of space? He took the game on and could’ve done more if shiels didn’t spill every handball he offloaded. The Chad is firing

If we don’t draft some mature aged pressure smalls this year late from the N.T or W.A I will lose it! I don’t want to read Nash’s stats again! We need pressure forwards ASAP!

    Hawthorn’s 2019 Trade/FA - Targets/Incoming players discussion only

I understand the rules but besides Bryce Gibbs, it is extremely rare a player holds out for the intention to make it to a specific club. I think Gws would rather let him walk and get another years elite service then do a trade for the sake of getting something back.

    Hawthorn’s 2019 Trade/FA - Targets/Incoming players discussion only

Surely if GWS had the feeling that Whitfield would walk next year they would explore trade options with clubs who could offer a lot more than we could

    Game Day Round 18, 2019: Cats v Hawks, 1.10pm @ MCG

He doesn’t zip around as consistently as he once did but the afl released top speed stats for the club and he has two Of three of our highest sprint speeds. He still battles and chases which is important because there is no one in the reserves looking even close to replace him in this role

    Game Day Round 18, 2019: Cats v Hawks, 1.10pm @ MCG

Cats will come hard early in the third especially from the centre. Danger will look for running shots deep so we can’t give him space. Even if they score early we need to rebound back and maintain pressure and not drop our heads. We had some tough misses I wish we converted but can’t rest on our...

Game Day Round 16 2019: Hawthorn v Collingwood, Friday 7:50pm AEST @ MCG

I know it’s only one quarter but Lewis needs to stay in the team. He provides an option and if he doesn’t take the mark he will follow up his effort with a crumb or a tackle. In most marking contests he doesn’t win he manages to keep the ball in front of him which makes it easier for some one to...

Player Watch Welcome to Hawthorn - Conor Nash. Extends to 2024!

He had a crack and is learning that he is there to make a contest and out run his opponent. Hopefully an offseason working on his kicking both set shots and under pressure can really make an impact. But his first goal he had his opponent burnt by metres easily by working hard in space. Can...

    Preview Round 16 2019: Hawthorn v Collingwood, 5 July 2019, 7:50pm AEST @MCG

Agreed the midfield got buried in clearances, and the lack of support over top wasnt addressed. We had defensive paranoia of the likes of Rioli and Ryan at front and centre they didn’t think about the talls peeling for the ball over top which they did intentionally

Am I the only one that thought Birchall looked a little bit thick in his return highlight clips? Not Stewie dew thick but definitely around the waist. I think he needs to prove his run in three full vfl games before coming back. He has had lower leg injuries after all. We need to prove his...

Autopsy Round 15, 2019: Hawks kick themselves out of it against the Eagles

The team battled, but we aren’t good unfortunately and the rest of the season will show it. I love the team but playing to hold on with a point lead showed how we worried about them turning it on. They slept against us we didn’t over perform. I may sound negative but Howe did a great job tagging...

Autopsy Round 15, 2019: Hawks kick themselves out of it against the Eagles

When you are getting smacked in the clearances it’s hard to win possession of the footy to play said possession football. To say locking down the game plan at the time we did we did with only a one point lead was stupid in my opinion. We aren’t a finals caliber team trying to stop a team...

Game Day Hawks v Eagles, 1.45pm @ MCG

The sooner we draft more young talent the better. I’m sick of everyone giving players a pass because he is good For a late draft pick or is good seeing they are just learning afl. Hitting the talent pools of the draft with higher draft picks pushes these lads out quickly! While we put a fight on...
