Can't believe Toby Greene got rubbed out for that.
He was contesting the ball at speed and his only mistake was jumping higher than the Carlton player to try and get to the ball.
You can have the oldies, but I'd argue that none of them would have had the versatility that Bucks had.
Daicos was the only one I'd consider putting in the same conversation as Buckley, mainly because he could literally do anything with the ball. I watched his entire career and he's still my...
I don't think I've seen anyone who matches Buckley's all round kicking ability. Short, long, flat, high all with incredible accuracy and consistency (especially relative to his peers)
Only thing he couldn't do was a Daicos/Blight torpedo, but he kicked his drop punt 65+

I have absolutely no qualms about the...
We can put a small black and white Kangaroo on our Indigenous jumper each year. One game is enough for the relative historical importance of the teams.
JDG was great
Frampton is currently far superior to Moore and looks a worthy Murphy replacement
JFN playing good footy
Beau definitely on the fringe
First half was great
Second half was abysmal. They clearly put the cue back in the rack and tried to manage the game out. I don't understand how...
I think (admittedly anecdotally given I'm not digging up data points) that it is much harder to find a key forward via trade than a mid, runner, small forward, back or ruck.
Drafting isn't easy, by any means, but the more bets you place the more likely you are to hit. We've drafted so many...
Thanks. That's helpful. Although, not just currently. I don't think we've really had sufficient high end, developing key forward talent drafted onto our list for 17 years.
The proof is in the pudding. Our only successful key forward drafted since 2005 is Checkers, who was drafted as a defender.
We are looking at draft picks.
McStay was a trade
Krueger was a trade
Checkers was a KPD when picked and we lucked in transitioning him forward
Johnson and Reef are very maybes
Cox was picked as a ruckman
McMahon, Kelly, Reid and Moore are potentially the only KPF picks we've made in 17 years...
I very much doubt that, particularly as most other clubs actually have 2-3 KPF players and/or prospects on their lists.
I think Ben Reid is probably the only KPF pick I can see out of all those selections. Brown was selected as a KPD as was Mihocek.
You are very good at projecting. I am not angry and I don't give two hoots what anyone else feels.
How do you know there has been no deluded optimism? Emotional investment? Pride? Their actions don't support these assertions.
And why can't we question their commitment? The whole football world...
I agree, but it is really hard to know when the selectors have been so reticent to give them games over the last year.
Reef should have had many of AJ's 15 games last year.
Fin should have been given games with Adams or Titch rested.
Allan should have been given exposure. Sidey could have...
I'm a strong advocate for celebrating success, but also casting a constructively critical eye on performance at the same time.
2023 was very successful. A true celebratory moment!
However, the failure to get enough game time into the next wave (Reef, Fin, HH, Allan) was clearly something we...
