Re: Nutrition
Things that stand out with your diet BF4:
- I don't know tall you are, how much you weight, how much physical activity you do etc. but there if you are trying to gain weight (that is you goal right?), it's VERY hard to see your current diet supplying enough calories - there are...

Pick 34 - Melbourne - Jesse Crichton (Tasmania) - 184cm, 72kg - 18 Jun 91

There was a good post from a Geelong supporter in one of the Notte threads earlier this year drawing comparisons between Notte and Mackie - if you look back at some of the early comments from Geelong supporters, there are a lot of similarities to the comments on Notte this year.
Mackie was...
RE - I'm more of the opinion that Shep is very good at steadying before finishing on the run, which a lot of the quicker guys have trouble with and causes their disposal reliability to suffer (everyone says it's something you can develop but in my experience it is a more difficult skill to...
Pick 18 – Melbourne – Brad Sheppard (East Fremantle/WA) - 186cm, 81kg – 25 Jun 91

Another tough decision – Vardy seems the obvious needs based pick for Melbourne, but I’m not completely sold on him yet and had 2 others a fair bit higher.
On face value Sheppard doesn’t seem...

Pick 11 – Melbourne - Aaron Black (Peel/WA) – 192cm, 82kg – 29 Nov 90

Tough choice between 2 players (Jetta the other) - lent more towards needs in the end, as I’m quite confident this fella wouldn’t have got past RE at 17 at the latest.

I think he's said in an interview he would be more than happy to play for either WA team. In any case, I'd imagine club supported would be irrelevant - if the Docker's only picked up WA players that supported them they'd have a pretty thin list to choose from.
I'm not convinced anything is...
OK I’ll get the ‘boring’ selections out of the way early...

Yep - I'd say that being mentioned as the best player in your team for 2/3 games at WAFL League level in a team beaten convincingly on both occassions is probably showing more than all bar a handful in this draft.
Decision making, as it has a wide scope (decision making with/without/when the opposition has the ball), incorporates aspects of/improves the effect some of the other mentioned qualities and is one of the the most critical and IMO the most difficult quality to improve.
The positive is that at least his inconsistency within games can be linked to a poor running capacity, which is more improveable in the off-season than being inconsistent within games with a good running capacity (i.e due to poor game sense/play reading ability).
Probably a grade 2 strain - generally 4-8 weeks recovery - I'd think they would be playing it safe and not rushing him at all given there is ample time available.
Too early to be concerned about him being injury prone - prior to 2009 he has been very durable.
True - although it would be very interesting to hear his thoughts, he isn't the best interviewee - there was a podcast featuring him earlier this year on EagleView? with quite a few good questions asked and he gave very little away.
IMO Cockie has more football and athletic ability (although he is only average-decent at best) as well as hurt factor (offensively and defensively) than Priddis, but where he falls down in comparison is he doesn't get enough of the football for a midfielder and although he works very hard, has a...
I thought someone would pull me up on that! Yeah, it's probably a bit 'nitpicky' - he's a good kick (I'd put him behind Rich and Cotchin) and certainly not a weakness, but I think he could (and probably will now he'll be getting professional AFL level development a year early) improve his...
Scully and Swallow have potentially elite 'inside' ability, ball winning frequency and work rate/running capacities, whilst having good to very good finishing skills (if there's one thing Swallow needs to work on, it would be to tidy up his kicking) - I think they would form an excellent...

The Queensland kids GC17 signed in 2008 like Dixon, Smith, Haberfield etc. played in the championships, but they were also playing for the GC17 TAC Cup team.
Not sure how it will work in 2010 (would be a ridiculous decision for them all to play for Queensland!), but guys like Toy, Matera...
Way too early to call on Myers as he's only had 2 years at Essendon, had various injury issues during that time and played a grand total of 14 AFL games so far.
I like Sheppard - I don't think he has midfield potential, but he can be very effective off HB or a wing - 186cm, good pace and ball...
Worth a go as a rookie if he's keen enough - like most NSW kids you'd expect he has plenty of improvement given they don't have the strongest junior development program and he is also a late starter (first took up the game at 16yo according to the WCE.com.au article) - good size at 195cm, good...
Re: Lucas or Jetta?
tsp - You would obviously take Chappy, but Lucas critically doesn't possess the extraordinary levels strength/power in his game of Chapman (and most likely never will) - overall he is probably most similar in style to Pendlebury (IIRC he has mentioned him as one of the...
