    C Section Premier C - 2012

Hi All, It's time to put forward some nominations for the Premier C team of the year. Please let me know on this thread, or via PM, which players from your team (and ideally a few opponents) deserve consideration. Any further information that you can provide on the players you are nominating...

    C Section Premier C - 2012

Hi All, With the season now at the halfway mark, I was hoping to get some input on here about who have been the standout players in the comp so far and how a combined Premier C team would look at this stage. It would be great to get some thoughts from the posters on here, about which players...

    C Section Premier C - 2012

Thanks for that, UM, I look forward to reading about the Rovers progress. And while I certainly appreciate the advice and I'm sure this thread will be a great resource for me throughout the year, I'm of the opinion that anyone who takes what they read on here as gospel and doesn't bother to...

Your Clubs Best Player From Each State/Territory

Enright probably wouldn't have knocked off Bernie Smith yet either.

    C Section Premier C - 2012

Cheers, CC. It is a challenging role, when you're not directly involved in the section you are writing for during the season. I think the VAFA prefers it this way, to eliminate the perception of bias, which I can understand. I was writing for Division 4 last year and received some fantastic...

    C Section Premier C - 2012

Hi All, My name is Simon Fuller and I'll be your scribe for Premier C in 2012. Being involved in a different section, I won't be able to get to many games this year, so I'll be relying on contributions sent through to me be your clubs. With that in mind, if there's anything you'd like to send...

    Is this a clash?

It's not the Eagles' problem. They are the home team. It's Carlton's problem. They have a perfectly good clash strip, which they apparently won't use if the game is too important.

    All Australian Captain.

With all due respect to Goodes, I can't see him being picked ahead of Ablett or Judd. I think their leadership has been more demonstrable. In Ablett's case, it's obviously due to the unusual position he found himself in as a figurehead for an expansion team, while for Judd, it's more the way his...

    D4 2011 - Part 2

Re: Division 4 Section 2011 Hi everyone, With finals rapidly approaching, it would be great to start getting some nominations for the team of the year in Division 4. Very happy to hear about players from your own team, but it would also help the process if you can provide the names of a few...

The Definitive List of Elite AFL Footballers

With all due respect to Joel Selwood and going somewhat against the Big Footy tradition of irrationally pumping up your players above anyone else's, this year he has been extremely good (I would say elite), but no better or worse than players like Mundy, Boyd, Watson, Mitchell, Bolton, even...

    Has everyone forgotten about Geelong?

I'm assuming SJ's referring to their final ladder position. North definitely didn't finish top four on the ladder in 1997 and may not have in another year.

    D4 Division 4 Section 2011

Hi All, There's been a tremendous response from your clubs, which is making my job as scribe a lot easier. Just wanted to remind you that I'm very grateful for any information you can provide about your games on the weekend, or any other club news which you'd like to see in the record (send me...

I'll just write what comes to me. Surely I can delegate the fact-checking aspect to someone at VAFA HQ...right?

    D4 Division 4 Section 2011

Hi All, Just a quick message to introduce myself as the Division 4 scribe for 2011. I'm going to do the best job I can, but not being a part of Division 4 myself, I'm going to rely heavily on the information that is provided for me. I'm sending out emails today to the relevant committee...

    Fremantle's fans clapping them off

A lot of people will say Geelong were ordinary tonight, bar about 20-25 minutes, but Freo made them look like that. Same way Collingwood did in the preliminary last year, with non-stop pressure at the man and ball. It would take a very good team to beat them over there if they start dishing that...

VAFA D1 new thread for 2007

Tim Killworth. Coached Yarra for about five years, I think, and is a premiership coach. His last year was in 2005. Coached the last two years at NOBs. He's a life member at Old Geelong, as well. Should be an interesting year for Yarra, with Killer and old rivals Aquinas, back in the comp.

Honestly have no idea. But my guesses would be probably and probably not.

VAFA D1 new thread for 2007

Yeah, I suppose that's a fair point. A lot tipped us down the bottom though. If they keep the older blokes going around for another year or two, they've got the makings of a very solid team. Cherbakof (#7) was killing us, he'd be a pretty tough match up. Chivers didn't do a lot either, if he...

VAFA D1 new thread for 2007

From a pretty biased perspective, I don't know how you could play much better than Keem has over the past two months. Unbelievable to watch. 12.7 against BT and I think he kicked about 6.8 last week against Oakleigh. Always a good atmosphere against the Bullants, probably fair to say they're...

VAFA D1 new thread for 2007

Are you suggesting trundle wheels are inaccurate, Jack Dyer? That's a massive call. I'm not saying one way or the other, don't think I've ever seen Bulleen Park, let alone played on it.

If only Killer was still coaching us...he'd settle this with his trusty trundle wheel!

Can confirm that Rob has gone to Ringwood. Can also confirm that we hope he kills it in Divvy 1 and that he is always welcome back at Yarra!

VAFA D1 new thread for 2007

Our practice matches have been pushed back to coincide with what would have been round 1 and 2 (14/21 April). Apart from that, I don't think our preparation will be changing at all.

VAFA D1 new thread for 2007

thekid, I think most of us who had to play against them would agree with your analysis...I remember talk of "no Dolly, no Carey", then they go out and win the Grand Final by a lazy 10 goals without him. Class side and most of us would expect them to be more than competitive this year in C Grade.
