I doubt Parish has hit a target by foot all night. Absolute liability with ball in hand right now. Needs to improve dramatically if we’re to get close in the second half.
I think this is one of those complete write-offs. Obviously you review it on Monday, but the sooner we move on, the better. The ruck situation was always going to be an issue, and our midfield haven’t adjusted all night. Disappointing performance.
Funnily enough, I got over that loss quite quickly. Sure I lost about four minutes in an absolute numb and disbelief state somewhere between the ball going through the goals and Port walking down the race before I had the wherewithal to switch the television off.
I’m really excited by where...
I know it’s unpopular to compliment North, but they have some impressive kids. Ratten is coaching really well too. They challenged Collingwood for large portions of the game last week, so that was the quintessential danger game. Happy to have (barely) passed the test and secured the four points.
Heppell was sensational. Backing back into aerial contests with complete disregard for whatever or whoever was coming towards him. Played within his limitations when it came to his disposal by foot, and that contested mark he took with roughly a minute remaining cannot be understated. If that...
Sorry if this has been raised earlier in the thread, but is anyone else finding the management mode unplayable? Tried to play a game only for it to crash a few times. Figured I’d try to sim it instead, same result. I literally can’t get past that first pre-season game under any circumstances.

I’ve never seen a more tentative team. Constantly second to the ball, bracing for contact before it’s even arrived. I don’t blame them for fumbling because it’s preseason and it’s all part of dusting off the cobwebs, but we look intimidated.
I’ve never had an issue with Heppell as captain, but then again he’s always been a favourite of mine, so there’s significant bias. If he captains for another twelve months, I think that’s then the perfect opportunity to hand it over to Redman in ‘24.
After Lloyd retired, I needed a new favourite player. Took a few years but Hepp has been that player ever since the night we drafted him - couldn’t believe he slipped to us. Hope he has a memorable, and more importantly, successful 200th.
Watched the majority of the game last week and have tuned in for the last 20-30 minutes against Port Melbourne - our skill level is pretty terrific. Really enjoying watching our VFLW girls.
