Id take Lumumba for Clark. Im not saying its an even trade but it is a much better trade than Clark for nothing. I dont want Robinson. He's tough- so what. Viney is tough and will be a much better player and actually has a brain. Gwilt- for depth wouldnt hurt. Hopefully we get Stretch for a...
What a surprise, the top two clubs are named!! Heaven forbid that hard work has gone into either club. Im guessing the next suspects may be OMs or Mazenod? Of course Uni Blacks and St Bernards must be the suspicious ones in A grade.
sorry; that was very unfair to Nash. He is a very good player who has represented the VAFA. I just think in comparison to both Young and also some of Blues recruits that he is not as good
my mistake re finals; must have been the year before. Nash is overrated, and pickups are more than good
Regardless it is a moot point. They are in B , St Bedes are in A , next year is a different year with changes for both teams: still it is fun speculation
No i would agree with Brian on this one. Their current side would on paper be arguably better than their 2012 finals side. Yes this is not the B grade forum but a comparison between St Bedes and Uni Blues was made by more than one poster.
Blues IMO are significantly stronger this year than last. They have lost Young but added some genuine guns.Think Blakey, Caldow, Curnow, Gardiner, Macenzie to name a few .Dont be so sure about SBMT taking apart B grade.
Dont think the top four is that simple to pick
Old Carey have Fitzroy, Uni Blues, Ajax, OH and St Kevins- three at home
St Kevins have OI, Fitzroy, UB, Mazenod and Old Carey- possibly a slightly easier draw with three at home
Ajax have Mazenod, OI, Old Carey, Uni Blues, Fitzroy- two at home...
Sorry Bedford but im with perspective on this. How many 'bad' decisions did your players and coach make during the game? Were they faultless? Did they have a ping for goal instead of sitting it 20 out, or did they try to mark instead of punching? Did they go to ground instead of keeping their...
so at this very early juncture it appears we have
uni blues
ajax
st kevins(in no order- these five are grouped)
old carey
fitzroy
caulfield
old haileybury
OI
Mazenod
OM
looks a fairly even comp. Obviously teams will change, there will be injuries and returning players
but
Will...
Looks like this is going to be the Max forum unless the Skevvys or Fitzroyites get rolling
Any tips? i know most people would be tipping on the vafa site, but it would be still nice to see some tips and banter on here.
for what it is worth
Mazenod at home JUST; Carey havent won for a long...
Ill throw a few out there-Brendan Iezzi, Ryan Colbert, Julian Rowe, Matthew Kempton, Leigh Fletcher,Andy Biddlecombe and i am sure there are some more
from the original list
Tim Ockleshaw
Cameron Howat
Danny Byrne
Beauy junior.... Not sure that is the reason. He openly shopped himself around both of the past two seasons, training at more than one club. IF that was the case, why not go there last year?
Ummmm no- this is not correct, they released a fixture preview for all grades except D4 a few weeks ago, St Leos come down, South Mornington get a reprieve, Old Westbourne go down and get relocated then resurrected, Eley park and Northern Blues come up. in fact if you really want to know, how...
Wouldnt read too much into it. They have always lacked depth and last season got about 6 games each out of their best dozen. Howat did his knee in the rep game, Rice broke his arm 3 games in, and so on. Time will tell.
Doing the online tipping so may not tip every week however:
St Bedes over Old Carey. Ran them down at home last year and Carey were a much better side than this year
Beauy. Collegians were also a much better side last year. They will be better than Beauy in the long run but the Sharks will be...
I cant see Old Xavs falling, they have too much depth and i think anyone could be a relegation contender with a bad injury run, but i think Old Carey will be stronger than that. Rowe, Evans, D Yze and Fiorenza are huge losses, however Parton and A Yze would only have played 5 between them...
Add in Jack Watts,Cam Howat,Nick Smith and Shane Neaves and you'd have quite a side. I could probably also come up with half a dozen other names, Hellier, McQueen-Miscamble, Sam Williams, Brendan Iezzi,Jack Bull,Nick Wynne for a start. I reckon a couple of these may be better than some named...
Is that you Jason McGrath?
These rumours have been around as long as i can remember however Old Carey seem to be the chosen target for the past few years. Is it a case of where there's smoke, or is it just that they are an easy troll? I dont see the same questions being asked about Uni Blues or...
Sorry, fair enough ,and it was good of you to reply. It would be good to hear more about recruits for every club. It was more a reaction to the fact that we seem to get more here abouy Old Carey, uni Blues and maybe Bernies than any other clubs.
should increase their top end depth.i hope you are not just another Carey supporter talking them up like last year.I might have to go down and watch them play their second side however aka Uni blacks.
