Analysis Lack of genuine midfield depth. No half back accumulators.

I can't work out how a clearly injured Cunnington was supposed to play in the middle against an outstanding Danger and Selwood. Surely sitting him in the goal square was the best option. I don't think we could have beaten Geelong once Swallow and Cunners went down but it certainly was a good...

MVP Rd 12: Votes vs Cats

3 Gibson a running machine. 2 Tarrant fantastic defender just under too much pressure from a weakened midfield. 1 Brown pulled down marks all night. Without Swallow and Cunnington we just couldn't get the ball.

MVP Round 11: Votes vs Tiggers

3 Wells the 3 goals seals it. 2 Swallow probably best on ground. He was huge. 1 Harvey scored 4 goals and helped out in a few others. Could have given a vote to Thompson, Nicky Dal or Ziebell . Was good to actually smash a team. Jdoub went : 3 Wells 2 Harvey 1 Swallow Special mention to...

3 Thompson 2 Waite 1 Swallow Wells, Petrie, Tarrant, MacDonald and a few others as well. Was good to see a plan B and it stood up really well. Take a bow Brad Scott.

MVP Official Votes: Rd 1: NMFC d Adelaide 107-97yy

No real stand outs and we played ugly all night but bloody hell we were hard and tough. 3 Waite was the main difference with strong marking. 2 Cunnington was like a freaking bull. Tough as they come. 1 Zeibell kept us going in the middle for the whole match even though the disposal was a bit...

Tipping comps for 2016 (BF and ESPN)

Are we having a North board tipping comp this year? I can't seem to find the thread if there is one???

    Play Nice Bye bye Brad

Would be nice if he made a few moves occasionally. Tonights lack of coaching was awful.

Brad Scott should have moved him forward. He wasn't getting near it in the middle and our tall forward line wasn't working. Zeibell is a much better forward than a midfeilder yet no change was made.

Past #7: Adam Simpson - 306 games for NM (95-09; 5th AT) - NM captain (04-08) - current WCE head coach

He's a fantastic coach. Has a brilliant gameplan. He works on a system and his players have bought into it. I just wish our coach had a similar philosophy. I can't see much of a system at North at all. Just kick long to the big guys. That worked 20 years ago, not anymore. Simmo plays chess we...

Review +'s and -'s VS The eagles.

Not sure why we persist with kicking long all the time. It is just so predictable. Eagles defenders would have loved that. Just long bombs to talls who drop marks all night. The sad thing is we stuck to that plan all night even though it clearly doesn't work. Ever thought of going short...

    Past #6: Lachlan Hansen - pick 3 '06 - 151 NM games - NM life member - thanks Lachie

It's all about Robbie Tarrant. We need him fit and firing. Possibly our most important player this year. He can allow Hansen to float across half back and do his thing. He also takes pressure off Scotty Thompson and allows him to become a link man dishing off to Atters and Sammy Wright. Robbie...

Coach #34: Jamie Macmillan - delisted after 167 NM games/46 NM goals - returns as NMFC AFL Footy Ops boss (reporting to L.Kane)

He's had a huge year in my opinion. He's a big, strong, hard, tough bastard but one of the things I liked about him last night was his ability to run and make position. He took 7 marks and that was because of his huge work rate. Gee I hope he can play like that again next week. Exciting times.

3 Cunnington 2 Waite 1 Ziebel Also another fine job by Jacobs. I really liked Gibson's game. Wright and Firritto off half back. Petrie was actually really good if not for terrible kicking. Hell almost forgot Nicky Dal Santo who was really good with some fine link up work. Macmillan is a really...

Great pick up. I thought he worked himself into the game well. Our midfeild in general were very good.

MVP ELIMINATION FINAL: Votes vs Tigs

3 Harvey outstanding game. Gave us run and drive all day. 2 Waite strong in the air and finished on the scoreboard. Also laid some great tackles. 1 Swallow got our midfield going. Strong as a bull and was good all day. Also liked Jacobs job on Cotchin, Ziebell and Cunners worked hard. Garner's...

Moved Thread #1: Majak Daw -

Ok fair enough I was mainly referring to his future at North. I agree that he certainly did try hard tonight. Tackled hard and kicked a couple of goals. The guy has a massive leap. Hey if he was in his 2nd season I would be excited. As I said he would make a good 2nd ruckmen but that isn't...

Moved Thread #1: Majak Daw -

I used to stick up for him a lot but not anymore. Hasn't shown any real improvement so should be de listed. There isn't really a spot for him. He is hopeless as a forward but I always thought he would be a good 2nd ruckmen but it just hasn't happened. Had a good opportunity tonight and he...

    MVP Votes v Tigers

3 Jamie MacMillian looks a quality player to me. With so many out he was the standout by a mile. 2 Atley was really good early. He gives us run but unfortunately is one of the few. 1 Turner looks a real player. Terrible to see him go down like that. Hope the kid is ok. Gutsy effort . Hansen...

    MVP Votes vs Freo

Gee it's tough to give votes this week. So much heart and spirit. Some guys had poor first quarters but then came back strong such as Goldstein, Wright and Atley. I even thought Jacobs didn't do too bad a job on Fyfe. 3. Swallow was just a freaking machine. Clearances, tackles, got us going in...
