Oh - and I forgot to mention. My better years were certainly before we started providing content for the AFL... let alone starting DT Talk 12 seasons ago. A lot of people are catching up - and when you create this stuff, our 'PODs' or different thought patterns are out there for all to see (and...
The Traders
2017: 993rd
2016: 1031st
2015: 6287th (excuse, I know, but we missed two weeks of trades on this one)
2014: 884th
As for mine... I've had stinkers the last couple of years!
2017: 5058th
2016: 6392nd
2015: 344th
2014: 748th
Can't tell you Roy and Cal's results, as I don't have their...
AFL Fantasy Classic is a different beast. People need to remember that. 2 trades every week means for greater diversity in teams. This has been proven across the last three seasons when comparing leagues.
Fiorini (see above)
Josh Thomas got the 35% discount due to missing two years. He has played in the past so has an average to apply price to.
Pickett is at basement price because he hasn't played.
No players have been priced 'as they please' this year. Fyfe and Beams maybe have, however, there is a rule in place for that (based on their history).
All prices are based on a formula. Info below. There was A LOT of feedback to keep pricing standard. Beams and Fyfe didn't get a discount for obvious reasons. Fiorini... well, he has a 24% discount. Just sucks he scored so much in his final game. If we made him cheaper, then his price would have...
Two trades per week will stay. I would say that there were basically the same amount of uniques with RDT v AFL Fantasy Classic. No correlation between the 30 trades or the two trades per week. In fact, two trades per week probably increased/created differentiation in the last few weeks.
It's probably fantasy in general. Every game had significant drops in numbers (SC v AF was about 18% each). 36K are playing RDT and there isn't really too much chat about that either.
Maybe it's a bigger thing, not just the rules, etc... it's salary cap games in general. People understand them...
Can people stop calling it unlimited trades... because it's not. It's two trades per week, use them or lose them.
Also, you don't have to use your trades each week! I'm deciding whether to 'shuffle the deck chairs' or back in my 22 and grab some cash from some bench downgrades for finals...
"I haven't got a full team yet" ... wow! a) If that was the case, then that's a good thing for the game... so it's not so 'easy', making it a not so stupid system. b) You can't be playing the game very well if you don't have a 'complete' team yet.
The way the game is played this year means that...
Haha. Sock puppet. You're cool.
TBH, what I like is that the games are different. This has been an obvious goal from those making the calls. I like that AF is moving away from SC with rules. I think the fact that RDT is exactly the same as SC, just with different scoring, could be one of the...
It's more thought provoking for me... as I have trades to use. Usually I'd be down to 2-4 for finals and they'd be used purely for injuries/suspensions. I'm looking at fixtures, playing the stock market, weighing up over sub-premium bench cover... for me, it's a lot more to think about!
There...
The round one free hit will (hopefully) not be seen again. It was due to round one being staged over two weeks... probably not what I would have done to combat the start, but the good news is that round one won't be over two weekends next week by the sounds of it.
Butler, I'm not arguing that...
Hardcore players, like myself and most reading here, will always prefer limited trades. It involves strategy that we're familiar with an makes for a lot more hold/trade decisions than in the world of AFL Fantasy with two trades every round.
However... I am all for the two trades per round IF it...
Swan is VERY unlikely to gain DPP... however this does make me laugh. Someone argued with me on Twitter that is Watson got FWD status added, then it would be unfair for him as I already had him. If a MID gained FWD status, it's actually a bad thing... (ie. scores would be affected by this). It's...
Alright.. maybe next year, hey? While that might have been what you wanted, you can't be disappointed that it wasn't there as it wasn't advertised to include that!
Target audience isn't for those who want spreadsheets, it's for those who want a quick fix for a team.
Drive thru fast food v...
Ok, judging by your previous comments, you were never going to be satisfied... Out of interest, what was it that you 'thought' you were purchasing? Did we mislead you with the way we promoted it?
Maybe go back to the post on the previous page that was 'too long' for you to read and you might...
You really are a clown.
Just for the record, not one person has commented on our site, emailed us, tweeted us, etc. saying they were disappointed in what they got for their $1.99. Quite the opposite actually. Sorry it's not up to your standard.
IIRC, you're from WA... yeah? We'll be over...
What an interesting thread!
I haven't actually stepped foot on BigFooty turf for a long time... mainly due to how busy I am running my hack site with my mates, enjoying life and well, so I don't feel dumber by reading things that Dunn Well Dunn posts (obviously things haven't changed much in...
Best way would be to keep discussing here, work out some options that would be viable. I can possibly do up a post on our website with a poll to see what people think.
I have a feeling VS are probably 'listening' right now!
From what I understand, the 'temporary' trade or the 'get the bye player' average won't happen. I think the most likely scenarios would be the one less player per position, or a bigger bench. The former is my personal favourite (6-5-1-6).
That solution looks good to me, Dogs.
From a fantasy coach for over a decade, I like the set up as it is... but from someone who understands the need for simplicity and the masses (ie. those other 250,000 coaches who play the game), it's gotta keep people playing. I fear the current structure...
