Agree. Hopefully the AO test will give us something. Both sides have great bowlers, but the pitches so far have been for batsmen only.

No! It's the pitch. Are you watching? Absolute disgrace for a test pitch.

    Bledisloe Cup 2015

Normally each year, in the four nations competition the teams will play each other twice. Once home, once away. And the Bledisloe cup would be played best of 3. This year, however, the Rugby World Cup starts next month, so there was not enough time fto fit in all these tests. Therefore, the...

    Autopsy Game Day Experience

Did not notice this myself, but my son raised it at the game. The ANZAC banner design had both flags as Australian flags. Where was the NZ flag? What does ANZAC stand for ? We watched the Collingwood/Essendon game earlier in the day and they even had a singer doing the NZ anthem prior to the...

White number panels to be worn in all future Showdowns

Heh heh. Took a lot longer than I thought to get a bite.:p Actually my preference is for the PBs (when we can) and the BiB, but not a hybrid of the two. I don't think any of our other creations have really looked that good TBH, and quite a few of them have not stood the test of time.

White number panels to be worn in all future Showdowns

Nah!!! Let's make the whole strip as black as we can ! Do away with the V's too. If you want a bit of teal or white, then chuck a stripe of each on the socks. We will have to cop the the away strip so just have a white Guernsey in place. Not a popular idea, I'm sure, but I think black suits...

The Precinct at Alberton (Formerly The Port Club)

Agree with all of this REH. But I must say that the free WiFi suggestion is not an uncommon thing amongst sports clubs. I am a member of both Port Districts and Sema4 Surf Lifesaving, and they Both have free WiFi for members. And Port District is sponsored by Adam as well, so that's interesting...

    Cricket Discussion - Part 1

OK, I know some of these things have been mentioned in posts following this comment, but to clear up a few things... NZ have been playing test cricket for many many years prior to the 60's. It's just that Australia played them once in the 1945/46 season and beat them, and not played them again...

    Cricket Discussion - Part 1

True but not an issue. The pitch played on today between England and NZ is much larger than the Adelaide Oval pitch, and players like Brendom McCullum, Tayler and Williamson have shown their expertise on pitches all around the world. Of all sizes. If you think these NZ pitches are a dolly, then...

Mega Thread The Random Thoughts Thread Part 1

Burgess is very very good, but he’s a bit of an awkward player to fit into a Union side just at the moment. He’s not mobile, agile or quick enough to be a centre, and he’s not skilled enough for the back row - yet. If he can learn those skills I would suggest a number 6 or 8. Definitely wouldn’t...

Mega Thread The Random Thoughts Thread Part 1

I wish. I'm 57, so hardly a kid, and grew up as a labourers son in a remote country town. Left home at 16. All that I have I have, I have earned by myself, but in a IT Management position now so comfortable. But I must say I have travelled the world off my own savings, and the first thing me...

Mega Thread The Random Thoughts Thread Part 1

Having played Union in England, Wales, NZ and Australia, methinks your comment is somewhat malinformed. It's the rich and/or old school who may administer the game, but it's played in every country by working man and well-to-do alike, including England and Australia. League is only played...

    Paddy Ryder

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but as I read the thread, another couple of the pages in the thread seem to be created and I can't keep up. Anyway, some have said that it would be good if Ryder got number 4. I agree and given that Paddy was said to be impressed with the clubs...

Mod. Notice Your feedback on the Port board

Haha. I've got a mate who still wears these. Must admit he's a bit odd though. Had a pair myself once, many many years ago, but didn't wear them much. Story went that they gave the ants a 50/50 chance. :)

    Black and White Friday Night

I finally bought a 2014 guernsey at the club shop a month ago. I'm normally a L size, but had to get a 2XL to fit comfortably. It's long but at least it keeps my arse warm. Don't know whats going on with the sizing, makes it difficult buying on line.

Port's Club Song Ranked 15th in AFL

Back in the day, the early days of our entry to the AFL, me and a bunch of others would get a limo to and from our games at Footy Park. The driver had an original CD of the Power song that had, I think, 4 different versions of the song on it. The one we know now, an older style version, a full...

Is the Krak Coming Back (and Marlon too)?

Krak had a great game yesterday and I have no reservations about his ability to play AFL again. Hopefully this is being noticed by the Power recruiting group. Looking more imposing than I remember, with a bit more meat on his body. Moore was very impressive as has been mentioned. I thought Ah...

Player Sponsorship Player sponsor dinner 2014

As already mentioned, Brendon was a very personable young man who seemed genuinely friendly. Was impressed that he made the effort to seek a couple of us out in the bar prior to dinner, and introduced himself for a chat, rather than waiting till we were all seated. Enjoyed hearing how he went...

Universal Love Jackson Trengove appreciation thread

The article quoted didn't mention the writer, but I may take some more notice of this particular journalist, as this is what I have been saying to the naysayers I come across. Have a lot of love and respect for this boy (he's still a boy to me, at my age :D ). So much so that my teenage son...

    2014 Indigenous Round guernsey

Was saddened to read this article just now (link below). Che and Delvene are great people, although I have only caught up with Che a couple of times since he moved back to QLD. His son Sachem (Sushi to his mates) was a good friend/schoolmate of my son and they played footy together, coached...

Review R8: Port v Fremantle Review

Might have to agree with you on this one. At the time it looked as if Renouf was not even trying to tap the ball, just run into Sandilands, maybe to wear him down. Which may have been a plan. However, that's pretty much all he did. He hardly ever followed Sandilands around the ground and looked...
