When you get people swinging from side to side, like it's a Seniors cruise sing-a-long, rather than a visceral channeling of aggression by the fans at the opposition, it's hardly surprising. Stand still you clowns! (I'm assuming there's still the swayers, since I haven't been to a game for over...
Reversed free kicks are one of my pet hates in AFL. Not only does the actual person causing the incident get off, they get rewarded. At worst it should cancel out and be a ball up.
Instead of changing things that don’t need changing, how about the AFL get rid of the extended bench for Sunday games. Whether we are doing well or not, it’s always a constant annoyance.
Any crappy weather will be used to justify a contest and small win. I remember Collingwood putting us to the sword by over 100 points in shitty weather, but a dull narrow win here would fit the theme of another year of Hinkley, Koch and Richo.
If you have more money to spend than I do, there's Sandersons next crowdfunding campaign up at Words of Radiance Leatherbound by Brandon Sanderson. Signed Words of Radiance, plus you can get gear in your favourite Radiant order. Also a new 'secret project' Cosmere hardcover (or as an ebook/audio...
Other countries / wars around the world aren't existential threats to the Rule of Law. Many of the wars in Africa and the Middle East are civil wars, not invasions. With those that fall into the latter, I can't think of any that their leaders either a) have directly or indirectly taken over...
Meh. We’ll win easily enough, but the game plan will still s**t and there’ll be times we make them look good.
We know whatever the result, Hinkley will talk up West Coast. Anything over 30 points and it’ll be used as justification he’s ’still got it’.
It's worse. We know, as it's a VFL, that Geelong 2007 sudden hair loss and forehead growth size was just a coincidence  Yeah, that result would suck if it was legit, but since Essendon's 'adventures', all it does is make me angry that it stays in the record books, rather than an...
Not the main part of Sweden, but if Russia wanted to 'test article 5' by taking a piece of the Baltics to 'save oppressed Russian minorities', Gotland, in the middle of the Baltic Sea, would have massively complicated getting supplies via ship to them. Now with Sweden part of NATO, they won't...
Usual proviso of not applying to all, but if you're really poor then welfare from multiple kids is having you better off then none/not many. If you're making a significant amount above average pay then you can afford more than one or two kids. There aren't as many of the latter as the former...
Cookers make up the bulk of the Port crazies. Including one in aged care who insists COVID is not an issue, but protective gear / practices are close to making staff there commit suicide, it's so burdensome. :drunk:
Lucky you to have 4 of them. :drunk: Most of us have gotten by with just one or two supporters of our club, being nutjobs who've posted here (and mostly then left when their bullshit wasn't swallowed). Is there any club without a vatnik yet to appear here?
Universities or Education departments? Whole word teaching is garbage. Phonics (with Fitzroy readers), is how I was mostly responsible for my kids learning to read, rather than the school doing it. I don’t blame the teachers, they don’t get much input into what they get to use. Phonics has...
At the time of the Cuban missile crisis the US had only just started patrols with Nuclear submarines. Now both the US and Russia wouldn't launch a first strike (unless Putin goes completely bonkers), regardless of how close they are to the borders of the other country, due to a well known and...
This is the bit that drives me the most nuts, from an off-field perspective. Premiership success is worth millions. From immediate prize money, increased merchandising, selling more memberships the next 2 - 3 years (with being able to charge more), more and increased sponsorships. If we'd won...
Well Mr. Hinkley had done it,
Everyone else had won it,
With Jonas clucking all the while,
Big Dix's tragic idiocy made us smile,
While Allir lay unconscious on the grassy pile...
A few games at a game group yesterday, after a game of Maple Valley in the morning.
El Dorado, Age of Comics, 6 Nimit, Paleo then finished off with a three player game of Return to Dark Towet, with a win.

This is why people are wrong when they say sanctions are failing. Russia, outside the military is falling apart, literally. Aircraft incidents are up over 300%, making the old days of Aeroflot look like peak Qantas safety levels. These incidents are only going to get worse.
The West doesn’t...
Haha. Seriously though, it's as simple as appeasing dictators doesn't work NevillePAFC. Trump gets in and South Korea and Japan will feel the need for Nukes of their own. Taiwan's only chance is Trump's anti-Chinese views extend enough to protecting them.
It's simple enough - support Ukraine...
It's almost like it's a VFL in all, but name. This is the sort of s**t the likes of Kane Cornes (or any non-Vic. media person), SHOULD be shouting, except they are all just 'branch offices' of the VFL media.
Well not just the media. If the likes of Koch was doing his job properly, instead of...
Finished off our first Sleeping Gods - Distant Skies campaign, then first go at Age of Comics. Needed most of the table for Sleeping Gods, by the end, with all the quest and adventure cards we had.
Age of Comics was an enjoyable resource management / worker placement game. Art was great...
The saying "show me your friends and i will tell you who you are" applies equally well to countries as people. Ukraine's and Israel's friends are Democracies. Russia's friends - Iran, North Korea, Belarus, China. Palestinians friends - Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas, Houthis.
Anti siphoning laws. If you wanted a definition of a Boomer law, that's it. Pay-TV, Kayo, Streaming services, Youtube, Twitch, etc. etc. WTF are there still laws trying to force people to watch FTA? Heck, let's scrap that and make people listen on the radio instead. Must be AM though! None of...
You can bet someone from the club read all the comments on it here. I doubt they’d have had him put this out if there wasn’t so much around how this is a conflict of interest. Very AFL though - make a stand on the small stuff, whilst ignoring the bigger (ie coach, players and staff in animal...
They are both dysfunctional. One infantilised the other and one appears to either buy in or at least not say she’s not his mother. If he’s lazy and/or she’s too crazy and they can’t act like adults to parent jointly, the stickers add rancid s**t instead of paper over cracks in that relationship.
This will be great if Iranians were on-board. Will Iran complain about their soldiers killed, having to admit they are helping the Russians, or say nothing publicly? Couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch if true.
So he's 'paying for sex'. Yet I'm sure she'd go nuts if you said she's getting paid for it. Sticker charts can be ok for kids under 10, but if you need one in a marriage then get out now.
For getting into 'modern' board gaming, a couple of the one's that a friend had, that introduced the wife and I into the hobby were Stone Age and Revolution. Still games that we enjoy today.
As for favourite game, it changes, but my top 5, in no particular order, is generally these ones:
Age...
