Dimma mentioned in his presser that his defensive pressure was stand out on the weekend also. If we get Nank and Soldo rotating up forward with Jack and MJ, Stack, Bolton/Martin, George, Graham as the smalls, then that's a high pressure, forward line that has ton of talent
The main part that’s getting missed is that it would take Dusty asking to leave. No one at the club wants him to leave, they’d just respect his wishes. This is Dimma and our culture down to the ground.
Dusty will love the fact that he is that respected by the club and won’t want to go...
Its good the Hawks and Cats have two picks. Hawks already got Ward, so you think they'd go for a fwd/mid with one pick. Cats surely Conway or Bazzo with one of theirs? They need a ruck and they haven't replaced Harry Taylor, with their backline a big weakness.
That leaves in the 8 other picks...
Sooo…
38 + 40 for pies 27
7 + norf future 2nd for GWS 2 (GWS use 2nd to get Lobb)
15 + future 1st for GC 3 (GC trade 15 + something for future 1st)
Go into draft with 2, 3, 26, 27, 28
Is there anyway that GWS are going to swap pick 2 for anything we would reasonably offer that includes picks in this years draft?
Do GC actually want pick 3, or would a future 1st and a later pick in this years draft better suit them?
Is there a reason that the WBD would want pick 23 rather...
Dogs one a strong chance.
Giants want to trade and that makes sense.. why not that as an option? They's most likely get Mac Andrews with 7 and 28 covers their points deficit
GC OK fair play re the future third, make it 26 and future first, that should get it done
Why not 15 + 17 for crows 4th...
I would quite like this to happen (points factoring in picks shuffling back two places):
38 + 42 + 44 (1122 points) to the Dogs for 17 (948)
7 + 28 (2098) to the Giants for 2 (2034)
Future 1st + Future 3rd + MacPherson Salary dump (or whatever they want) to GC for pick 3
15 + 17 (1973) to the...
I think Carlton would be happy with the trade (6 and 25 effectively for Cerra) as would have accepted that pick 6 by itself isn't going to get it done. Its more what Freo would accept the two late first rounders....and obviously what those two picks end up as!
Even with the bumper WA draft crop factor?
Also Cerra is a very good player, but an early first round and late first round level talent? Not sure given what similar quality players have gone for in recent years
With Blues looking to get the right picks in to trade for Cerra, prob two first rounders, if we got the Dogs first rounder, would a deal for pick 6 and 25 for our two late first rounders be preferable than going in with the three first round picks? At 6 & 7 we'd be guaranteed two guns and then...
I agree 100%, but if he doesn’t come back it also doesn’t mean he’s a heartless pr**k either. Your original post didn’t seem to leave any wiggle room. Kid visits hospital equals go home, regardless of the seriousness.
In truth Brooke has done him no favours, either way he’s gonna cop it. It...
What if it was a super precautionary visit to the hospital for a bit of gastro? She’s then discharged and is 100% on the road to recovery. Lots of parents are pretty hair trigger with that sort of stuff.
There is always a point at which you say my partner/family has got this otherwise you...
Yep and a job where I lead a team.
Obviously there’s a point where you drop everything and go home, but if it’s not that serious then you trust your partner and family to look after things until you can get back.
Cotch also has a responsibility to his workplace and team mates. Family...
Does anyone know why we aren't flying straight to Perth? It seems ridiculous that we move hotel from Olympic Park to the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney and train at the SCG, when we could of flown straight to WA and got acclimatised to Perth, the time zone, Optus stadium etc.
Either:
the RFC has...
Maybe with a decent chunk of our midfield back next week and two very winnable games after Bris, we’ll rest Jack and give CCJ a couple of games.
Definitely put us in much better shape if we lose Jack or Lunch later in year if the next best option has a couple of senior games under his belt. He...
First full game as a mid - BOG, 33 disposals, 16 contested possessions, 8 clearances with our injuries, against GWS's midfield and Dusty playing forward a fair chunk of the game.
If he doesn't become a permanent part of our midfield rotation then something's wrong.
From Adelaide according to his wiki page. Obviously got major butt ache about the 17 GF or last years prelim. I reckon he’s a salty port fan after the round 4 train wreck.
Umpires from Adelaide shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near a Richmond game
If Dimma puts him head to head with three young hard nuts in Taranto, Hopper and Green as an inside mid, it’s going to tell us everything we need to know about where he’s at.
Not sure how accurate the weights are on the website but he’s close to the size of Taranto and Hopper, and the same age...
Short played any midfield minutes in the seniors? Surely time for our B&F winner to get a run in the middle. Got the footy IQ and a mature body
Would then just look at Grimes and Naish for Shedda and Bolton. Grimes to release Short to play mid and Naish to play wing allowing Pickett to play mid
Any info on what his training programme is going to be?
1. Train alone with guidance from the club
2. Do a 6 week boot camp with some local fitness nutcase
3. Train with a local club, ideally WAFL if possible
If its just 1 then I'll be worried about the kind of shape he'll come back in. If...
It’s 6 degrees warmer and 2% more humidity than the GC in Darwin right now, so not overly bothered about the weather.
In terms of the breaks, WC will have had only two extra days break over 5 games than us, so not massively worried about that either.
The Giants will be playing for their...
FB Balta Astbury Grimes
HB Broad Vlastuin Houli
C Caddy Cotchin Pickett
HF Castagna Edwards Lambert
FF Martin Lynch Riewoldt
Foll Nankervis Prestia Bolton
IC Chol Baker Short Higgins
EMG Soldo Ross Eggmolesse-Smith Aarts
Tough choice between Snags and Ross for the last IC spot. Depend on who...
I agree, if he lost 8kg it definitely wasn't all muscle. Otherwise at 93kg he'd be the same build as Dusty - which he 100% wasn't.
I you look at him as a potential Cotchin replacement/type then he's not far off where he needs to be.
As listed on RFC website:
Ross 187cm 85kg
Cotchin 185cm 86kg...
Vlas a massive out, but with the dogs fwd line playing pretty small it could be worse. Balta takes Bruce, then Broad takes the next most dangerous, Grimes plays the intercept role unless Bont goes fwd. Baker, Markov, Egg need to cover the rest of their smalls and provide some run.
Cotch, Ross...
Out: Caddy
In: Ross
Ross back in to play a purely inside midfield role, or resting on the bench.
His grunt around the contest and clearance work that we saw from him from the PA game last year until he hurt his ankle against Freo was so impressive. We absolutely need that player back with...
Any news on what Prestia, Nank and Titch are going to do? I can’t imagine that Hoult will be coming up anytime soon, if at all.
There’s logic in Nank and Prestia joining the group soon so they can do their quarantine in the early stages of their recovery. There are also reports of other...
