He's been nuts since he became QLD Premier, if not before.

    Yeah, I'm buying the dip.

    Cummins Overrated?

True, but I've always gotten the feeling that a lot of AFL players-cum-cricketers wouldn't be international standard, anyway. It has an effect, but IMO significantly less than people think.

If I turn out to be wrong, I'll close the short. (It did plummet just after I posted that LOL.) The US500 just plummeted, FWIW. Will have a negative impact on semiconductors, but we're approaching the point where you buy the dip (bottom may be 4700-4900).

    Libertarian Nutters

At best, libertarianism might work on an individual level, but it's not viable on a societal level. You can't have everyone just doing their own thing and expect to have a functioning society at the end of it.

Nope, shorts and bear put spreads are back on. Have also sold the TLT puts. Have also decided to short RMD (the US version) and SMH (semiconductors). (Follow him on Twitter, and subscribe to his Substack if you have the capital to make his ideas work.)

Hold off on shorts for now. Maybe do a call spread expiring 17 May if you're so inclined, before selling on Friday (a longer date out reduces volatility). I think it's a good time to sell 20+ year Treasury Puts, given that the 10 Year Yield's at the top of its range. You can do that on IG...

Yeah, definite signs of life, but consistency still isn't quite there, as to be expected from a young side.

Matthew Wade retiring from red ball cricket

Surprised nobody else has commented. He did play 35 Tests, so he's not a nobody. Personally, I found him to be a frustrating player, as much as Mitch Marsh and John Dyson were, if not moreso. During his first stint, he was an acceptable lower-order counterpuncher, but his keeping against spin...

    Cummins Overrated?

Here he is, redefining the word 'overrated' by winning Wisden's The Leading Men's Cricketer in the World in 2023. Why can't all our players be overrated like that? https://www.espncricinfo.com/wisdenalmanack/content/story/1429129.html

Yesterday, I utilised a Bear Put Spread on the S&P 500, because I thought the initial rise was illusory with commodities going strong. Good thing I did. I have also shorted the Nasdaq after reading this: I sold BYON and YETI. The former was plummeting, the latter was a bad investment. RE...

Seemed like a good guy. We both had overlapping interests and political views. RIP.

What would a Dutton Liberal leadership mean for the Liberals and the country?

If they do, they won't get anywhere. So I'm all for it.

You'd take 162 all out every time after sending the opposition in. Now it's time to take refuge in the bunker while our batsmen attempt to pass it.

It's not the first time Lyon's taken wickets like that. Such an obvious setup, but batsmen are so accustomed to picking things off their pads that they can't help themselves.

The one thing I will say is that NZ are remarkably consistent against AUS, no matter what their form is like otherwise.

Hazlewood is more likely to run through a lineup when conditions suit, but Gillespie is more rounded.

People forget that Brett Lee was a downright liability for large parts of his Test career. Well behind Starc. I marginally prefer the older quartet but that's solely because of Warne/McGrath and their mastery of psychological warfare.

SLAVE DRIVERS HAVE RIGHTS TOO! :drunk: On another topic, I wouldn't read too much into seat polls. They're notoriously unreliable because of small sample sizes.

Terrific knock from Green given the circumstances. He's justified the selectorial gamble to place him at #4.

The Voice was a failure, but I don't see how that alone affects him in this seat. Especially given that Dutton's poison in VIC.

    Oppo Camp Nemesis

Didn't harm the state governments any. The beginning of the end for ScoMo IMO wasn't COVID, it was Brittany Higgins. Without her, you don't have the Women's March, and you don't have ScoMo making tone-deaf comments.
