Shows our recruiting has improved. Several young blokes did well and Lower, Young and Stevens were bargains! We got three solid players for pretty much nought!
If Russell Gilbert got the gig, I think I might stop going to the footy. I've never found his "look at me, I'm stupid" kind of humour to be funny. He is about as entertaining as the rest of the tired old "Hey Hey" crew. Dave O'neil on the other hand........ that would be gold.
Alright, I'd...
The fact that you are ladies will mean telling him to shut up will have more of an impact. Imagine the pummeling he would cop if he even thought about getting aggressive towards you. Just politely tell him to shut his pie-hole.
Well said. Not to mention board members, medical professionals, staff at all levels of AFL clubs and (within a few years in the dog's case) club presidents. The fact is it takes more than 22 good players to make a successful AFL club, and many of the people behind the scenes are women. I agree...
Personally I think football should be like any other work environment in most respects when players are paid big dollars to play. Comments said in order to offend that are racist, sexist, homophobic or out of line with modern society should not be tolerated. I would lose my job for making sexual...
Excellent news. This kid will be the heart and soul of our club for years to come. He's a modern day Libba, except he is quick and even other club's supporters love him. ;)
Pissweak of the supporters behind me who were screaming blue murder about Bartel being roughed up by the doggies players, and even claimed Pearce had started it after watching the replay. Completely one eyed supporters of any club give me "the runs".
Re: Great Effort Boys!
That's a crap comment. I think the whole point of the thread is that the effort last night was far from mediocre. Not winning doesn't always show mediocrity, just like winning doesn't always show brilliance.
I wouldn't pay him that much respect. Ward is good, but he isn't good enough to require a heavy tag. Play Boyd or Griff on him and he will cop a pasting. Or maybe put Clay Smith on him and see how the young fella goes against another hard nut. :thumbsu:
Climbers: Jones, Roughie, Wallis, Libba
Sliders: Gilbee (I feel dirty saying it, but the writing is on the wall)
# If anyone can slot straight back in after long term injury, it's Morris. He will be back to form by mid season.
Sorry, my post did come across a bit heavy handed - not trying to paint you as racist, I just don't see the need to compare this kid to Hill or Stack. Skinner maybe, in that they both come from isolated communities and it would be a challenge to move to Melbourne. Where as Stack and Hill both...
Apart from the colour of their skin, the comparison is pointless. Should we be wary of our latest draftees because of what happened with Akermanis or Tim Walsh? Neither Hill or Stack struggled with city life or moving from their ancestral lands as far as I know, they just weren't up to standard...
Michael Talia
Rapt for the kid, and this might be a coup for the club. KPD are rare as hen's teeth and even one who is half a chance of becoming a regular is a steal at #39. Looking forward to seeing this kid develop. :thumbsu:
I would think he needs to spend a few years on the board before going for president. I reckon Susan Alberti should be next in line, with maybe Grant after her.
I can just see Cooney's end of season "knee surgery" being a little bit "unorthodox".:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
I walked past him at a game once (he was in the crowd), and I couldn't believe how tiny he was. I'm not tall, and I'm about average in build, but I felt like a brick shisenhaus next to him.
I'm amazed that Stack has improved each year and had his best season so far, yet people want him delisted.
Addison I would be happy to keep, but not fussed to lose.
Mulligan should go as soon as his contract is up.
