Geez we're lucky Argentina only decided to play for the last 20 minutes. Despite complete dominance for 60 odd minutes we kept making mistakes and poor decisions when hot on attack. If it wasn't for Argentina bombing a certain try at the end it would have been 32 all with 4 or 5 minutes left...
In the other match South Africa beat Argentina 33-31. By all reports Argentina were the better team on the day, but as has become common with them in the last couple of years, they weren't able to close out the win. Nevertheless, Argentina are clearly moving forward, while the same can't be said...
Izzie isn't really a top liner speedster, and Barrett is actually very quick. Take a look at this video of him chasing down Willie Le Roux who I'd guess is a bit quicker than Folau.
In isolation it was soft, but it came off the back of 4 or 5 penalties in a short period of time and there's always the danger of receiving a card when that happens.
You guys are kidding yourselves. McCaw's yellow was an absolute obvious card. Wallabies hot on attack, he's lying on the ground and knocks the ball away with his hand. It's a professional foul and a yellow card every single time. Completely cynical.
Wallabies yellow was a lot softer but I...
Not the worst game in my opinion given the conditions. Was pretty tense and the Wallabies had their opportunities to win and just couldn't get it over the line.
I think Phipps should start ahead of White. White's pass was slow and his box kicking poor. I'm also unconvinced about Beale at 10. I...
Basically yes. But it may ultimately be a battle they'll lose (if the top players can eventually get 3 times as much elsewhere the lure of the test jersey might not be enough to keep players in Australia).
SANZAR are ultimately hoping to expand into bigger economies in Asia and the Americas to...
I'm cautiously optimistic. I hope it at least goes to a decider in Brisbane. That would be epic.
If the Wallabies do win the Bledisloe, and the NRC is a reasonable success (i.e. it's financially sustainable, uncovers some big new talents and has a few matches draw a decent crowd and TV...
Yeah I'd say that might cost at least another 5k people at the rugby. In my experience there's more crossover between rugby union fans and AFL fans in Sydney than there is with AFL and rugby league fans. There'd be some people that would have wanted to go to both in a perfect world but for...
You have to be careful doing that. If the ATO find you've sold to minimise tax, and then bought back within a short period they will penalise you for it.

The US have a much clearer system as...
3rd test was much better. Palu had a blinder, Folau scored another 2 tries and Skelton had a great debut. He still lacks a little bit of fitness and conditioning, but with his size and skill he could be a great player for Australia over the next few years. His potential is frightening. And his...
Not sure what happened to Bolt. I didn't see too much of his match but did see him go 3-0 up in the 4th. Then when I walked back past his court the match was finished and he'd lost the 4th set 6-4.
Still, all in all a good day for the Aussies.
The biggest swing was in the Berankis v Ito match...
Was at the qualifying today. It was awesome with so many Aussies playing. It's also free and you get to stand really close to the players, basically in the corner of the court. Saville's match in particular was great. He saved a match point in the 4th and then came back from a break down in the...
Nah it was terrible outside of the first few minutes and the last few minutes. Neither side was willing to play rugby in their own half and there was a lot of aimless kicking. It was also slow, stop start and unimaginative.
Rugby union in Australia is so reliant on the Wallabies that I don't...
Well we'll see. Moore will obviously have to earn his place when he comes back. You almost seem to be hoping he fails.
Faingaa is good around the park but a bit of a liability in the scrum. I think that's probably why he's dropped down the pecking order a bit this season.
The point is that if TPN were to go down we'd be in a difficult position.
The Rebels top hooker is Shota Horie. He's excellent. But he's Japanese and just played in the team that beat Canada. Nathan Charles from the Force is a promising player, and has an amazing story (he has cystic fibrosis)...
TPN is good, though his lineout throwing can be a bit shaky and he has a tendency to get himself knocked out by diving head first into tackles.
At this point in time we've got no other world class hookers after him.
Moore is one of our only players with a hope of making a World XV. Or in other words - he would make the All Blacks.
I certainly hope he overcomes his injury and gets back to his best. Our depth at hooker isn't great.
Other results from the weekend:
South Africa 47 - 13 World XV
Ireland 29...
Great performance by the Wallabies to win 50-23. Hooper brilliant like always, and guys like Fardy, Palu and Slipper really aimed up. Off a good platform our backs executed as well as they have in years. Toomua and Folau were outstanding, and I thought Foley did a great job of controlling the...
Genia hasn't been able to run the ball much because his pack is going backwards. Why do you keep ignoring this fact? Plus, at least Genia does provide a running threat. White does not. Genia when he picks up the ball sucks in the first couple of defenders, meaning there is more space in the...
I basically disagree with you that he has been much worse than the others. The others have all looked a lot better because they've been behind better packs - the one game where Genia's pack played well, so did he. And it was his last game. I don't rate Burgess all that highly and don't think...
You mustn't have seen his most recent performance against the Highlanders. Also the Reds pack have been consistently outmuscled this year and it's tough for any halfback if the forwards are going backwards. White and Phipps have had a much better platform from which to play.
I don't mind him...
The Wallabies play France in Brisbane on Saturday in the first match in a 3 test series.
The Wallabies team is:
1. James Slipper (Reds)
2. Stephen Moore (c) (Brumbies)
3. Sekope Kepu (Waratahs)
4. Rob Simmons (Reds)
5. Sam Carter (Brumbies
6. Scott Fardy (Brumbies)
7. Michael Hooper (Waratahs)...
The Blues haven't lost at Eden Park this season. That includes wins against the likes of the Hurricanes, Crusaders and Waratahs. They lost at home game against the Sharks, but that was played elsewhere.
It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if the Blues beat the Chiefs at Eden Park.
