    2014

Bit of last minute recruitment in the mdfl... You'd get a certain type of player who would join another club on the Eve of the season opener. Good luck. My 8 is; Waubra Bunga Springbank Hepburn Gordon Bunninyong The following to be fighting it out for 7 and 8 D ford Beaufort Newlyn Clunes...

    2014

Big weekend coming up! Who's everyone tipping? The comp is looking more even than ever this year... Waubra favs for mine and should roll Hepburn. Springbank, bunga and Gordon all on the improve. Will be interesting to see how bunninyong, Hepburn and daylesford line up this year... Tipping a...

    CHFL 2012 preseason

Would think Buninyong would have a hard week on the track after a loss like that. Heard they got in front in the last quarter, only to have Newlyn kick the last five. As per usual, write off daylesford at your own peril this year. Must admit I thought they may be getting a bit long in the...

    CHFL 2012 preseason

That's really good to hear. As for my tips; Dunnstown vs Beaufort.....Beaufort by 30 points; Dunnstown don't appear to have been too active, so will slide down the ladder a few notches this year, with other teams improving. Clunes vs Rokewood.........Clunes by 50 points; Think Clunes will...

    CHFL 2012 preseason

Ok, well let's divide the league into two, based on the fact that one team (illabarook) get belted by Hepburn once a year!? I can assure you the standard of the league will be stronger this year on the back of the influx of BFL players and young kids wanting to stay at clubs in a strong league...

    CHFL 2012 preseason

What a crock... The talk about two division's for the league is tiresome. In my opinion the league has gone from strength to strength since the amalgamation with the LPFL. I would think the fact that alot of players are leaving the BFL to play CHFL is a great sign for the strength of the league...

Re: Ask DT/SC Questions Here (Please Read First Page before Posting) What's the consensus on Leuenberger ATM? Looked like really stepping up last year, and has been average in the Nab Cup? Is he injured? Or is he just getting primed for the home and away? Hoping he could become a 100+ this...

    CHFL 2012 preseason

I don't rate Springbank as a threat for the flag at all. Will be good against the lower and mid table sides, but will struggle against the top teams in my opinion. Time will tell. Less than a month away from round 1, have any clubs played praccy matches yet?

Olivers x 2 as Stars? this comp is in trouble if the olivers are stars!? Watched the game on the weekend and S.Mullane was the matchwinner in my opinion. Seemed to get a heap of clearances and used the ball well. Daylesford will need to shut him out of the game to be a chance i would think...

Central Highlands general thread - June 2011

Re: Central Highlands Part 3 Judging by the kind of folk they have at their games, I beleive it was the great great grandfather of someone local, who was considered a village idiot in surrounding regions, but they made him the mayor of Illabarook when he thought up the name. Apparently he was...

    Central Highlands Part 3

Forgive me if I'm being naive, but who is Layton? Not sure about Andrews and Buscombe on the half back line either...Would have thought Phelps (CHB) (Bunn) and maybe Eastwell (Newl) would be a better pair. Would put S Mullane on the ground in the mids.

    Central Highlands Part 3

Will get a bit more of an idea of how teams are looking this week. My tips are; Hepburn v Beaufort; Hepburn by 75pts going on last week's performance by beaufort. Daylesford v Dunnstown; Hard to go past the Towners after last week. 20pts. C Linton v Ballan; C Linton by 40pts Newlyn v...

Good win by Dunnstown, and well done to Gordon... Have they picked up many? Did anyone see the Bungaree v Skipton game? They would have to be fairly dissappointed with that start to the year.

    Central Highlands Part 3

I've got Daylesford at 3. Think they'll still be pushing late into mid September. Also, if cox and mackay are staying at the Burra's with some handy pick ups, probably have them just a smidge ahead of Waubra. Really think that interest levels in the league will be through the roof this year. The...

    Central Highlands Part 3

Woweee! $20k large. Turley's not a bad player, but 20k, give me spell! Couldn't blame anyone for going there for that much cash. Mind you, i'd be straight in the car after training and games, head to Gordon and pour a few hundred over the bar each week. Be good if Hepburn could spend some money...

Is it just me, or does Ballan turn over more players than Manchester City? Must be something wrong out there. In theory, they should be a strong club given the population (for both player aquisitions and supporters). I know they pay quite a few players... But they seem to stay there for a year...

    Player X or Player Y

I think mcglynn played at his peak last year, Higgins has a bit of upside, but i'd be more inclined to look at T.Cloke (will continue to get better) or T.Varcoe (who should get more time in the guts with Gazza gone) Rioli & jurrah vs franklin/didak and watts

    Central Highlands Part 3

Haha, good analogy there merrigan, is that referring to on field or off field? I know it's very early to say this, but could we be witnessing a wheel or two falling off out at the Burra's? Time will tell. Would be a real shame, given that they are such a great bunch of blokes out there...

    Central Highlands Part 3

Played at Bungaree for a while... Was a fringe 1's player from memory. At a guess, I'd say he's probably played for 6-7 clubs. Maybe he just likes training at different altitudes each year. Either that or he has a mangina and he leaves a club when they find out... Heard a whisper that...

    Central Highlands Part 3

Stewart and Edwards would be pretty handy recruits for newlyn given that they were probably lacking some bigger experienced bodies in the middle last year. Will probably challenge for a finals spot given they only lost to Hepburn and daylesford by a point last year. Heard waubra are looking...
