The shoulder definitely draws level with the head, but not sure it actually touched the head? Laird seemed a lot more worried about his knee - if he'd copped one in the side of the way you'd have surely seen a reaction to that.
I assume there's a medical report of some kind which confirms there...
Yep agreed. It was a down field free kick which is exactly what it should have been.
I assume there is another angle that shows a head clash or something, because otherwise I can't see where the high grading comes from.
I reckon they've just pinged him after he got off on all those little...
I can't get over how good literally every part of this is. Loses his balance, taps the ball back to buy himself time from the opponent on his right, then somehow spots Simpkin and flicks a left-handed bullet through two other opponents. Then still has the instinct to jump backwards and avoid...
Yep. I just assumed a lot of the ridiculous Campbell takes in this thread were typed out pre-match.
Whether its TC or Xerri, having that second ruckman in the side has multiple positive knock-on effects. it's not going to negatively affect our rebuild but it might stop us ruining Larkey.
Yep - Phillips put it in exactly the right spot so that Powell didn't have to break stride and was facing the right way to open up space. It seems simple but how many times have we mucked up that kick?
Seemed to be at the start of the second. We were noticeably on top in the midfield for the second and third quarters - how much you want to put that down to Turner's impact is up to you. Laird is always going to get the footy, it's more a case of limiting his damage.
I must admit this is the part that has puzzled me about the whole process - if someone has a reserved seat, why don't they get that seat in the member draw?
The club is obviously trying to create a really tight knit bond with all of the draftees from last year so hopefully that's a factor as well. He was the first bloke Phillips ran to after kicking that goal.
Genuinely don't get the Campbell hate. He's a VFL footballer but we looked so much better structurally - suddenly the opposition couldn't triple team Larkey and take a million intercept marks, and Goldy could actually go forward properly.
Obviously it's Xerri's spot long term but people just...
Adelaide probably would have said similar going into the game against us last year. It will click at some point later in the season and we'll snag a couple of wins.
Yep, they traded the Polec pick along with picks 23, 30 and 49 to get pick 6, and then traded 6 and 35 for Mayes and 5 (which they used on Rozee).
Butters was their own pick.
It's not just Larkey's opponent, it's the way the second and third tall defenders can also get over to the contest he's in because they don't need to worry about any other aerial threat.
