If the VFL/AFL greatest team of all time, was selected today, who is in, and who is out of the team of the century

Lethal is unquestionably for mine the GOAT!! Nick Daicos almost there. I haven't read the full thread but surely NDaicos has taken a spot on the half back line. Kevin Murray or Bruce Doull would be outed by now??

Player Watch Nick Daicos - Can he be the GOAT?

Would have to get ahead of the current GOAT https://afltables.com/afl/stats/players/L/Leigh_Matthews.html Over 900 goals ON TOP of his role as a midfielder. Does look to have a very good career in front of him though. May be GOAT of the Daicos clan though if he continues (although his old man...

Where are the Western Bulldogs at?

Naughton to me could be the best KPD of all time. Certainly in the conversation. Better than Scarlett and better than Rance...for mine these 2 are standouts in the modern era. Dench, Southby, Silvagni, Jackovich...he can overtake all of them. HOWEVER... He doesn't play back. Bevo continues...

Rumour Steven May: 'personal issues' and drinking

I got to Acceptance once I accepted that it was an ex Tiger assistant coach who took our old game plan and improved it (largely by having more talented players at his disposal...the running players). Goes to highlight (getting off topic) that it was Hardwicks assistants who played a...

    Rumour Goodwin under close scrutiny

One of the posts of the year. The bloke is a loose cannon. Always has been. The Demons got the one flag at least due to personnel around him. Highly doubtful that a 2nd will follow before this list starts to fall away. Shame but at least you got the one.

Predicted number 1 pick reportedly tells West Coast he doesn't want to play for them

Walter has excellent hands. And I really do mean excellent! He is one of the best young talents I have seen. IMO, he is the one who in 5 years time we will be talking about easily as the best of this years draft. He simply needs the right development at club level in his first 5 years to...

What is your clubs best 22 of the 21st century so far?

Nankervis is easily a better ruck than them. Not as a pure ruck (ie. tap - he's not that good) but the role he played and his follow up and pressure acts was crucial to our 3 flags. He gets in on that alone without question.

    Adem Yze - Richmond coach

Ditto. I don’t begrudge him the move but it’s obvious he had it lined up from earlier in the year. And the fact that we missed Kingsley is a further kick in the balls. Still, we got the 3 flags so I’ll take the bad with the good.

The race for the 2023 flag

The 3 form teams for mine heading into the finals were Brisbane, Carlton and GWS. All 3 are playing in the Prelim. The team that finished top of the ladder at the end of H&A has found form and is also there. I still think Brisbane's best is better than the rest with GWS 2nd. I'm still sceptical...

    Patrick Dangerfield - potential GOAT?

Certainly in the discussion for top 50 all time greatest...H&A players. Where he would be ranked within the top 50 i don't have the time to rank him but has an excellent H&A career. As for finals ranking...

Is this where Collingwood falls away?

Regardless of what the Pies do next week, the team is still limping into the finals. That’s fact. History has shown what premiership sides produce leading into September. Can the Pies be an outlier? Possibly. But recent history has shown that is extremely unlikely. Regardless, it’s a very even...

News Damien Hardwick agrees to become the coach of The Gold Coast Suns

Dimma is a proven, successful coach. Proven in building a team from scratch (remember how bad the Tiges were when he took us on?). If anyone thinks that he is the messiah though, they are kidding themselves. We were ultimately wildly successful because of the changes made post '16 season and...

    Nick Daicos

What a sensational young player he is. In my time, I can only think of two others who were as good as Daicos as a 2nd year player...Judd and Williams. And that's going back many decades. His dad was something special and to this day one of my fav players (yes even though he played for the...

Analysis If Dustin Martin wins a 4th Norm Smith medal and premiership will he be regarded as the greatest player of all time?

Agreed. Dusty easily ahead of most others if picking a team for a GF. Or finals. That’s not however how to judge a GOAT. He’s in the conversation for GOAT finals player. Not in the conversation for a H&A GOAT.

Analysis If Dustin Martin wins a 4th Norm Smith medal and premiership will he be regarded as the greatest player of all time?

A teacher of mine once told me that I had an eidetic memory. Turns out he said I had an idiotic memory. For what it's worth, I don't think Martin comes close to GOAT...for mine. His H&A record whilst very good is bettered by many. If we're talking finals only, he is in the conversation up to...

NO TROLLS Hawthorn Racism Review - Sensitive issues discussed. Part 3

I'm still not sure to this day who within Hawthorn kicked off this report? And what were the Terms of Reference? These...

News Hardwick Quits as coach of Richmond: Press Conference at 10:30am Tuesday

From day 1 of his joining the Tiges, he put in place a team ethos of always congratulating each other when they did something good. It wasn't all about kicking goals. If you remember back to those early days, we weren't kicking too many goals. But he made sure that the players celebrated...

News Hardwick Quits as coach of Richmond: Press Conference at 10:30am Tuesday

I don't disagree with you and the gameplan was devised to hopefully maximise the list talent he had on his hands at the time. 2016 we tried to play to a cute and skilled based game plan. Preseason '17 the coaches changed our game plan to a "simplistic", move it forward at all cost, high...

News Hardwick Quits as coach of Richmond: Press Conference at 10:30am Tuesday

Almost a joke? Nah...we were a joke. A lot have forgotten of the rabble the Tiges were when he took over. We were worse than Fitzroy was the norm at the time. He played a key role in completely rebuilding the list. Through the GWS and Suns expansion years. His achievements were phenomenal...
