    SFL Division 3 - 2013

So any signings for 2014? I'm hearing some rumblings around with regards to CPL, a few big players rumored.

    SFL Division 3 - 2013

As a supporter of a club in a higher division, some of you lot better be consigned to playing for minor placings. I'd be surprised if anyone got within 10 goals of Carrum having seen some of their signings. They may be evergreeen, but some of these players played in SFL Div 1 and 2 Grand...

    SFL Division Two - 2012

You might change your mind when you see Ben Phibbs play. Phibbs and Anstey are legends of A grade Ammos, having taken St Bedes to a three peat through the grades. He lead the goal kicking in the competiton from the wing in Ammos, and gave the likes of Gary Ablett Jnr and Jimmy Bartel bath's...

    Southern FL Div One 2012

Boring game? If your idea of an "exciting" game is a uncontested, front running style of footy, then you'll be hard pressed to find it any league during finals at this time of the year. Yesterday was a hard, contested game of footy, as all finals should be, and a great endorsement on the...

    Southern FL Div One 2012

Chelsea heights won't be complaining, they are mud runners, best wet weather side in the comp by a fair distance. If the finals are still at Clayton, look out...

    Southern FL Div One 2012

Chelsea Heights will give them a shake imo. They are still missing a heap of players, and if they get them all into one side, they are a very very very strong unit on paper. But time is running out. Flack played Saturday, but they were still without Smith, Matheson, Fitcher and Dalton...

    Southern FL Div One 2012

Most of the top sides have fairly good ruckman. Gilbert (SP) and Barr (CH) are the standouts in the comp from what I've seen, and had a fairly good battle when they played against each other the first time around, Gilbo probably the best around the ground, Barr is a monster in the taps and is...

    Southern FL Div One 2012

St pauls with injuries? CH had no Matheson and Gilder who will be there on the return trip. CH kick straight and they win by 5 goals...... But bad kicking is bad football, although it's good to know there is 3 genuine contenders

    Southern FL Div One 2012

Went along to the CH vs Clayton game. Really tough conditions, wind was blowing accross the ground all day. CH were 6 goals up at the 18 minute mark of the last and just turned off, Clayton almost caused a boil over. Clayton were absolutely monstered in the ruck, Barr was...

    Best players by position

Who in your opinion are the best players by position in the respective divisions? Key Forward: ? Key Back: ? Small Forward: ? Inside Midfielder: ? Outside Midfielder: ? Ruckman: ?

    Southern FL Div One 2012

Jesus there is alot of Sawers love here....... The kid would have had to improved a hell of alot since his days at St Bedes....... he was hard at the footy and a handy player, fringe 1sts, but there was daylight between the likes of Anstey, Scafidi and Mouritz to Aaron.... even Mad Dog...

    Southern FL Div One 2012

Massive signing. Great for the competition. CH were already a decent side, top 3 imo, could well push them into serious contender status. Johnstone, Attard and Murphy is the best midfield in the league. I wouldn't want to be Highett this week.

    Southern FL Div One 2012

Heard from a mate playing for Frankston, Chelsea Hts downed them by about 6 goals.... Walsh kicked a bag, apparently have two new pretty handy ruckman.

    Top 10 players...?

Probably not mentioned as he hasn't played a game in the comp yet, but if guys like Gilder are featuring prominently...... Sam Anstey is easily in the top 3 or so players in this league.... he was in the top 10 or so players in the Ammo's imo, one would assume that would easily translate...

    AGSV First XVIII Football 2012

Trinity still have McDonald, he's easily one of the best 17 year olds in the country, if not the possible best player in the 2013 draft class.
  16. T

    Southern FL Div One 2012

Mouritz is a better pickup for Chelsea hts imo, was better than Sawers at St Bedes.

    Southern FL Div One 2012

I think some of you are up the wrong rumour tree's. My mail is Mordi has just about got the biggest signing of the off-season, Sam Anstey, VAFA A grade rep player and SBMT b&f winner.

    Southern FL Div One 2012

Groves isn't at Chelsea Heights, but I believe they have signed a couple of SBMT players.

    2012 SuperCoach Teams

Cotchin could definately average the 110 mark next year. I saw enough in the second half of the season to suggest Ziebell will be an absolute supercoach beast down the track. Topped the league for clearances in the second half of the year, at 20 years of age.... :thumbsu: I think 100+...

Who's the Big Man we have landed?

Tippett, would straighten up the side to no end.
  21. T

    Todd Goldstein

Best year by a ruckman to not make an All-Australian team? I can't think of anything close to a better one? I mean, the same selectors chose Mark Jamar last year.....

    Live All Australian Thread

Goldsteins year would of gotten the starting AA ruck spot almost every other year but this one, to think he didn't even make the bench is ridiculous. Stiffest ruck I can ever think of tbh, the kid almost broke the all time hitout record, and he missed games! Luke Darcy :o Got his...

    Bolter/Drop off for 2012

Bolter: North, might jump upto 5th/6th imo, have a seriously good young midfield, easily the best of the up and coming ones, led by the best young ruckman in the game. If Swallow/Ziebell/Goldstein/Bastinac/Cunnington all improve another 10%, look out. Slider: Sydney: Not predicting a big...

    Opinion 2011 Top 50

TBH I wouldn't have him near it tbh. Sometimes we get sucked into the young players a bit too much. For instance as a comparison. Shuey: 20 disposals, 23 goals, 17 goal assists B.Harvey 23 disposals, 32 goals, 15 goal assists. And most havn't had Harvey...

Writing him off? The kid will be an absolute beast, in the near future. The comparisons with Peter Everitt are a good one imo.

    Top 15 players 07 - 09 Drafts

I rated the list PuppetM :thumbsu: Ziebell would be absolutely perfect for Melbourne. His second half of the season was absolutely outstanding. Bleeds for the jumper in the same way Voss did, huge physical presence for a midfielder of his age, similar to D.Martin in that regard...

    Developing Midfields

Think is says more about the North midfield tbh. Of the young, up and coming ones, they have by far the deepest. Cunnington, Atley, Bastinac and Adams is a fairly handy second string group to throw in there with Swallow with 3 or so of their main clearance players out.
  28. T

    Goldstein vs Leuenberger

Leuenburger is quicker. Goldstein is a better kick, and much more dangerous up forward. Goldstein is also the only left handed ruckman in the compeititon, meaning he dominates centre square hitouts, part of the reason North are one of the better clearance sides in the league...

Are North Melbourne closer to being a serious contender than Carlton, Essendon, Sydney & Fremantle?

Re: Are North Melbourne closer to being a serious contender than Carlton, Essendon, Sydney & Fremant Certainly rate Kieran Jack, but Andrew Swallow is one of the best inside midfielders in the league this season, he's taken his game to another level, and will probably be one of the...

Are North Melbourne closer to being a serious contender than Carlton, Essendon, Sydney & Fremantle?

Re: Are North Melbourne closer to being a serious contender than Carlton, Essendon, Sydney & Fremant Sydney has some fantastic kids, Reid in-particular, Mumford is a super player, and probably the fourth best ruckman in the compeition imo. But imo, North's midfield bats by far the...
