Reckon we're really lucky having three stand-out choices. I would personally go for Lachie - I think the step-up to captain will have the least impact on his game. He's already doing a fair bit of media and he's the ultimate professional. He's a safe choice.
Harris would be the choice for...
Unfortunately, Caltex doesn’t exist anymore in Australia. Unless they are looking to move back here… which would be surprising.
Edit: I stand corrected. It looks like they are making a return to the Australian market.
Old Caltex => Ampol.
This case is absolutely tragic. Whoever is advising Brittany needs to be sacked (lawyer, media advisor, etc). She is doing herself no favours.
Can't help but feel that if this case was tried without all the media fanfare that it would be a relatively straightforward verdict. I do think based on...
To be fair, being the CEO of a big four bank is probably equivalent to one or two other roles in the world. Would be considered the pinnacle in the corporate world and it's rare you see them move onto another CEO role. Usually retirement beckons or a lucrative gig on the speaking circuit...
Think our game style has progressively changed. The game has definetly moved on and we probably haven't moved at the same pace. We don't the luxury of making massive changes to our gameplan. That would set us back a year or two as we re-configure our list.
Fact is: we are / were a contested...
Positive take on all of this - I think this might work in our favour. As long as Fullarton can bring the ball down - they should tell Tom not to try mark anything and just to spoil - we will have more chaos ball in our forward half and greater forward half pressure.
I agree - but I think our coaching group are making progress.
We've evolved from 2-3 years ago in terms of our gamestyle. We've gone from a team who almost solely relied on kicking to contests on the boundary to a more corridor attacking style.
We need to tweak a couple of elements from a...
Who would you pick? I don’t think anyone selected after Ely would be best 22 in our team and would probably be in the same situation as Ely pl reserves for the past couple of years.
Best option is probably Nick Hind. But even he got delisted before showing some good form with Essendon.
Don't think he was criticising draft selection but rather our trading / list management. If we had an opportunity to trade out a future third round pick to get a player we rated in the first round (after weighing up our needs) and we didn't do it - that's a poor assessment of risk / reward imo...
Think it's important to note the players that were selected after Ely aswell as the 2018 AFL draft wasn't exactly the deepest draft. The only players selected after Ely that look like solid AFL players right now are James Jordan, Nick Hind and Bobby Hill.
Our recruiters likely took a gamble...
The more I think about it, the more I like our picks. I won't profess to be a draft expert and to be honest I've only started following this years draft the past two weeks but Darcy Wilmot was the player that stood out the most to me. I commented earlier but he strikes me as a similar player to...
Might be just me but Darcy Wilmot reminds me a bit of Elliot Yeo when he was at the club. A bit rough around the edges but has speed, takes the game on and is tough both in the air and on the ground. Has a fair bit of upside if you ask me.
I suspect so - I reckon our window will be open in the next couple of years. As Rich and Zorko retire, we'll able to target a couple of big names to replace them.
I think you would be surprised at how often management on behalf of players reach out to other clubs (often during the season). I suspect Fremantle has strategically leaked this piece of information to force Lachie's hand. The only winner in all of this is Fremantle.
