That last game against GWS, we didn't have Jonas/Clurey (due to injury) and McKenzie played but was impacted by injury. Esava and BZT would have been much better.
I totally agree. After coping criticism from my mates abut DBJ decline, we watched him closely the last couple of games. I think he just lost his confidence and ability to be aware of surrounds. Dropped marks, jogging out defence and tackled, missed kicks etc.
Does the previous deal (or no deal) with Ben Jacobs get discussed in these negotiations. I understand it was a while ago, but he was a first-round pick that they got for nothing really.
Great question...
Or will he be anywhere near our forward line when we enter?
Will he lead to the forward pocket?
Can he kick goals from the forward pocket after he marks it?
If he marks it anywhere inside the forward line will he just do the 'team thing' and pass it off?
Great to see the karma bus arrive to collect David King.
He’s always been one of Port Adelaide’s biggest critics with nothing ever positive to report about us.
Great loyalty shown by Port Adelaide with keeping Renouf. I hope he rewards the club and hopefully stays injury free, plays well for the Magpies and if required can provided back-up support.
On the other hand there weren’t too many other experienced delisted ruckman available (Jolly...
Also many of the Phantom Drafts had Lewis Taylor at pick 14, who was still available at our first pick.
He was also described in the earlier phantom drafts as being quick and being able to play a variety of positions/roles. Some good clips of him for Vic Country & their Captain too!
Would he know this years draft strategy for Port? St Kilda have picks 18 & 19 & with our first pick at 21 surely similar types of players would be considered at this pick?
Callum Twomey from the AFL posted his Top 20 Phantom Draft again this morning. Good to see four South Aussies make the list:
2. James Aish - Midfielder/Norwood
3. Mathew Scharenberg - Utility/Glenelg
14. Trent Dumant - Midfielder/Norwood
An ankle injury and then illness threatened to...
A quick look at the Round 19 emergency listed players. As you can see this includes a variety of games played, age, positions and form. As these players haven’t been picked in their respective side(s) it may be easier to entice one (or more) to Port during the trade period.
Greenwood, Wright...
Agreed. Especially when umpire Kamolins says there was nothing in the lead up to provoke the strike???
So he didn't see Hooker charging towards Westhoff after the siren???
This is turning into one of those funny scene's from the movie My Cousin Vinny.
Great question mate. I think this is a combination of both and the fact that the opposition at times will push players back to cover the middle and therefore make them lead into the pocket?
However, I still think player confidence and players being very hesitant to have shots on goal or attack...
We could have the best forward line in the AFL and still not have shots at goal.
The delivery into our forward line is terrible with a mixture of poor foot skills with trying to hit a target, kicking towards the pocket all the time (sometimes without someone even leading to that direction)...
Agree with you and it's not like we have the type of players that could perform the crumbing role. On paper our forward line (and midfield) are more than capable of crumbing the pack (Gray, Monfries, Mitchell, Neade, Boak etc.). From a forward line perspective I think our entry and/or our...
Not sounding like sour grapes but even if we won today I would have created this thread.
The umpiring today was far too inconsistent with each umpire interpreting the rules differently.
One umpire would often let play continue in an attempt to let the game flow, one umpire would blow the...
Callum Sinclair (mature age rookie listed player) from West Coast did more in his NAB Cup game against Geelong than Renouf has done the entire time he's been at Port - Don't even get me started about Scott Lycett!
I Agree. From a stats/DT perspective Maric, Zorko, Giles, Greene, Gibson, Morris, Cameron featured in most teams. However, on that basis Brad Ebert should have made the top 10 list easily!
I still can't believe that Maric was traded to Richmond for pick 37 and we traded for Renouf for pick 33...
I have Wingard, Moore, Hartlet & Butcher as more important players for us. I also think Redden will take over Lobbe by the end of the year too & Renouf will be gone by this time next year.
Yes pick him up. He made the under 18 All Australian team and was touted as a top 20 draft pick.
What's the worst that could happen if we picked him up? Surley Port Adelaide isn't worried about its public image all of a sudden after the past 6 years worth of mistakes with our recruiting!
My choices:
Liam Jurrah
Sam Colquhoun
Jaryd Cachia
Brent Prismall - Already had his second chance & our medical staff will already be busy.
Garlett - Should have picked him up in the National Draft.
Garlett was touted as a top 20 pick during the year so surely Pick 82 would have been worth the risk? Being selected so late in the draft is a lesson in itself considering the hype surrounding him being a top 20 pick at one stage.
Even during the interviews leading up to the draft he admitted...
