Which VFA Club did you support?

I supported Camberwell. The mighty Cobras folded in the very early 90s..Thesr days I follow Port Melbourne.

2nds VFL Grand Final: Footscray vs Box Hill Hawks, 21st of September

As a Port supporter, I just thought I'd congratulate Footscray on Saturdays win. It was fantastic to see so many Bulldogs supporters at the ground and it created an atmosphere that would have been lacking with a lower drawing side. I felt harder bodies like Goodes and Jong really began to...

VFL Round 10 - Port Melbourne v Footscray, Sat 1.10pm

G'day, a bit of a lapsed poster on Bigfooty nowadays. I though I'd give a bit of a pump of to the Port v 'Scray game coming up this Saturday. It's been going on 90 years since these two clubs last met and going back to the Bulldogs time in the VFA, there was always a terrific rivalry between...

    V.F.A in the 80's

As Camberwell supporters at the time, I remember me and my dad going along to a game at Preston when the Cobras had the week off. I remember Spider kicking goal after goal, with a massive crowd going from end to end to watch Shaw.

    AFL going Stand Alone

Bendigo's recruiting so far has been ok. Aussie Jones has his work cut out to work with the BFL and give kids in the local league a chance. I'm confident that their performance in 2013 will be more successful than when they first joined the VFA/VFL as the Diggers. I can't see any real...

2nds VFL Grand Final - Port Melbourne v Geelong, Etihad Stadium, 2:15PM Sunday 23 September

Congratulations Geelong.. A very impressive performance. I thought Dawson and Stephenson really were always going to be a problem for Ports smaller ruck brigade. First use of the ball and some clean skills made all the difference. I thought we battled hard all day and really needed to make...

WSYD Crackers says Port Melbourne would beat GWS and Gold Coast

If it was last year's Port side, I would have backed the Borough gainst the current GWS side, I'd back Port no problem. This year with a depleted ruck dept. It would make things much tougher. I'd rate Port a huge chance on a smaller ground like Port where our stronger onballers would...

Is this Football's ultimate fairytail story?

Great match-ups all across the ground. The two midfields are class all the way, while the ruck dual between Minson and Port's Deluca and perhaps Fanning will be critical to the result.

2nds Williamstown vs Sandringham (Avalon Airport Oval at 1:10 PM, televised)

Geez. only 4 Seagulls players named in their starting 18? Surely the Bulldogs must field their own side from next year and play out of Whitten Oval.

    Wiliamstown playing at Werribee

Also playing a home game in Keilor I believe, as well as a country venue. The departure of Matt Little up forward will be a big loss for the Seagulls. Should be interesting to see how he goes at Bendigo.
  13. onslaught

    Williamstown supporters/talk thread.

You'll find there are a couple of vfl related websites where threads like this are a bit more active. Anyway, Faulks will be a big loss down back for the Seagulls in 2011.

    VFL v WAFL State Game

The VFL is still a couple of weeks away from making a start, so realistically, the squad will probably be picked by around Round 5, There will probably be more discussion on this game on vflfooty.com once the H&A season commences.

    Training with a VFL club

Get in contact with the standalone clubs where their is more opportunity. Get in contact with Frankston Dolphins or Port Melbourne FC (9646 2094). There are 55 spots on the list and probably your best bet.

    Johnathan Mullins

Not sure, his form wasn't great early in the season, I think he was dropped on that, then he got injured in the two's. I didn't really see him during the second half of the season... Have a feeling he may have called it quits. Shame, we could have used a goalsneak like him today!

Vfl - team of the year

Sitting 3rd on the ladder (2nd after Saturdays game), you'd have to nominate Sam Dwyer from Port. Dalton's the other possibility. Both invited to AFL Screenings in October.

VFL players able to take next step.

I'll nominate Sam Dwyer and Jarrod Dalton as two decent draft prospects.

Will the VFL grant another license to a stand-alone AFL club? I doubt it.. Even Schwab said in the Record this week that it would negatively impact the image of the competition.

Yes I have it (it used to be my ringtone!) but I have misplaced it. I'll grab a copy from the 81 GF, as I believe they went to a shorter version after that year. I'll upload a copy to vflfooty.com and provide a link when done.
