I take the other side of this argument actually.
Particularly for Grand Final's - if the 2.45pm match started at 2.52pm then I say we put 2.52pm
(Cause I have this fear that wayyyy down the track someone will re-find the 2.45pm start time advertisment and it will get changed back to that.
I...
the croucher Gibbsy
Yep, perfect idea to put it as a separate thread.
Should we try and attempt to go in a chronological order, or would you rather we just post whatever we find form any decade/year
Croucher I didnt go any further with that idea , though there was a slight correspondence with Stephen Rodgers in 2020 where we spoke about some of the examples.
I think its best this group tries and puts the correct GF times in stone once and for all. (Then can worry about other finals...
Bob Gill passed away April 18th.
Never played seniors for Richmond but quite a few Reserves and U19s, and hired a young Brian Taylor as an apprentice in order for him to make a successful transition from Mandurah to Melbourne in 1979

Thanks for the tag.
Current projects working on are :
All Richmond Reserves players 1919 - Current Day = 95% complete. Missing around 200 first names.
Richmond behind kickers 1908-1950
RFC chronology, day by day, indepth: 1885 - circa 1955
Jack Dyer chronology 1930(pre Richmond) - 1949
These are the missing first names of Richmond Reserves Players from 1998-2000.
Some we have an idea of, but I'm putting it out there for anyone to put in their two cents worth
Edit:
I've sent email off to Andrew Dimattina, so he should be able to tell me which brother it was
We believe McGhie...
Agree with that - however they just need to get the rebuild happening or the server updated cause at the moment it takes many minutes for pages just to load.
In the meantime I'll keep trying to parse the behinds for pre 1940 matches
I gave OliverG some Richmond years only a few weeks ago - and he was also going to reach out to Coll Hutchison to get the list he had done which was basically 1940s-1950s.
I'm working on pre 1940 years atm (very slowly) and trying to make each game as complete as possible. My understanding is...
Summary: I'll let Stephen Rodgers decide if he accepts this as a first kick/goal addition, once he gets up to this page during his review
Vin Crowe - Richmond
Here's my evidence that we could consider adding Vin Crowe (Richmond) to 'goal with first kick'
Rd 17 1964 Richmond v Geelong.
Sporting Globe:
Thoughts?
I wonder therefore if we should also accept Vin Crowe's suggestion to me that he kicked a goal with his first kick on debut late in the game. Press says he "very quickly" kicked a goal after coming on.
I suppose if we are accepting Tom Hafey's goal - this wording from the paper is similar as...
With this list, I should add that Tom Hafey's name was added to it in the mid 2000s after an interview with me where he recalled coming on late in the game and kicking a goal with his first kick.
The AFL Col H approve that addition - though its always slightly nagged at me that we were taking...
FYi Peter Corkran's dob is incorrect in a couple of places (ie: AustFootball Oliver G )
It's Jan 8 1948 - wikipedia is correct.

No official appeals from any of the families involved (remember it wasn't just Dyer, but Thorp, Herbert and more who were affected). Certainly families were upset, but we've always said to them we are happy to reopen anyone's case if new evidence surfaces.
At this rate I suspect I'm going to have to start watching most of the Richmond games of the 80s. Though sadly there weren't many finals matches in that period
Oliver G
There's a lot of pre 1965 behinds data that exists that I have (and Col has previously given me data as well ), did you want that info to upload into AustralianFootball
SOmeone is tagging Football Permits for articles in Trove. So it may come in handy for people down the track

Cheers mate.
The AFL has contacted me and they hgave some files on their database that may fill in the games (and maybe prove your theories) so I'm gonna check with them on Tuesday. Cheers
A few first names have been found so thank you all. They have been crossed off the above list.
There's a bunch of 1998 Reserve players whose first names we don't know. They were most likely top up players. They are below
? Grundell (1992, perhaps first name is Duncan, or is it Simon the Leopold...
