    Preview Rnd 2 - Carlton v Western Bulldogs - Thursday 24th March 7.20PM @ Marvel Stadium - Team Post #1028

Next thing you'll be telling me it's not Caleb Daniels!

A good list but IMHO, Fisher will be in the midfield rotation well before Saad, Kemp, Stocker (injury), Philp, Carroll and probably Docherty.

    Defunct footy clubs in Melbourne

Yep. There were quite a few surrounding EDFL teams but in reality, this was a lower standard of footy. Especially the lower divisions. We attracted more of the lesser skilled players, those in their twilight years or those looking for the social aspect. And yes it was a bit of a wild comp in the...

    Defunct footy clubs in Melbourne

Yep. Old memories for me. South Ringwood started out as Ringwood Uniting Football Club. That was their church association to play in the ESCFA. Until the church decided the club wasn't playing in the spirit required. ;) They then changed their name to South Ringwood. Colours were originally...

    Past 5. Sam Petrevski-Seton

Doubt it. We'd kill for a couple of third rounders.

    Past 5. Sam Petrevski-Seton

He went for 41 and they got 55 in return. So his trade value was very little.

Bluemour Season Blast Off Edition XXXIII

A strategist is crucial but I don't believe Jennings fits the bill. He's great at strutting out themes and motherhood statements but when have you heard him discuss the nuts and bolts of the game. At the end of the day, they are gimmicks that drive the mindset and thought processes of the...

    Past 5. Sam Petrevski-Seton

If WC want SPS, they can offer up picks for him. We're not obligated to take Brander off their hands. If they don't offer sufficient compensation, let him try his luck in the PSD. Personally, I believe we should accept nothing less than a pick in the 30's.

Bluemour Melting Pot XXXII - Reaching fever pitch! 🔥 🔥 🔥

Sticks and Bradley were involved in the company that went belly up. (Waratah) Abysmal behaviour toward their suppliers so I hope Sticks keeps his distance. Diesel was doing his own thing for years. Nothing to do with it

Bluemour Melting Pot XXX - Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot! 🔥 🔥 🔥

Very true but the post was to leave him in defence "for a few seasons". A few seasons? How about letting him train with the mids in the off season and if he doesn't come up physically, let him play defence and try again next off season. Pigeonholing players for no reason other than it worked for...

Bluemour Melting Pot XXX - Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot! 🔥 🔥 🔥

See Dustin Martin, Marcus Bontempelli, Jack McRae, Luke Shuey, Patrick Cripps and 50 other midfielders for why you dont take midfielders and play them back pocket for numerous seasons. Stocker is playing well. When his physical capabilities allow it, give him midfield minutes. If he doesn't...

Bluemour Melting Pot XXX - Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot! 🔥 🔥 🔥

Correct. The respectful process is to inform Teague and give him time to inform his family. We've had players delisted previously and their sacking is on the radio before they could drive home and tell their families. Terrible. Inform him, give him the necessary time and then inform the members...

Correct. Liddle has performed his duties very well. If he's overstepped the mark and pushed into areas beyond his jurisdiction, that's the fault of the board. He should have strict scope parameters and shouldn't be able to work outside of them.

And what happens when any interest parties walk away and say "forget it"? What's option number 2 for Freo? Keep an uncontracted player who they have no authority to retain? That can't happen. The market will dictate the value. Not the seller.

Training 2021 Training - pics, reports etc

Brilliant rule IMHO. It will open up the change of direction beautifully. Especially the 45 degree inside kick or handball to running receiver. The team that does their homework will benefit most. Should be custom made for a player like Adam Saad.

Training 2021 Training - pics, reports etc

Correct. Ed had about 15 or 16 clearances that day. He was huge in the absence of Cripps. Ed's major value isn't just what he does with the ball, it's what he does without it. When we require someone to create an option into space, it's always Ed. The other players have hit the wall or cant make...

    Bluemour Melting Pot XXVII

Quite possibly. Personally, I'm obviously unsure of the deal but I suspect the Fantasia pick could be holding up the Saad deal. Whether it's 8 and our future second for Saad and Ports future first or similar but it wouldn't surprise me to see it tied in.

    Bluemour Melting Pot XXVII

IMO, there is a reason to split it. Essendon will hang out until the pick exchanges are no longer available. An end of first round pick is fair. Let's acquire one, make it available and move on with our trading. As for clubs refusing to deal on pick splitting, that's all unfounded speculation...

    Bluemour Melting Pot XXVII

Let's just split the pick with Geelong or Brisbane and move on. Tell Dodoro there's a late first rounder for Saad if he wants it but we're focussing on other trades. If he refuses the pick, we take it to the ND and re-assess our options with Saad. We can't let Essendons movements be our focus...

    Bluemour Melting Pot XXVI

Where did he say that? I've listened to most of his stuff on SEN and I haven't heard that comment. If he did, it lacks logic.
  24. B

    Bluemour Melting Pot XXVI

Yes it does but why should he take the risk? There are a number of teams with picks before us including interstate sides. He'd be better signing with a club that can do a deal and having some form of control over his destination.

That would be 26 and 27 But I like the way you think

Thank God for that. We wouldn't want to offend them. They can have pick 18 instead.
  27. B

    Bluemour Melting Pot XXVI

Yep, runs, chases, tackles and when he gets it, sprays it like a feral cat. Horrible kick of the footy.
  28. B

    Bluemour Melting Pot XXVI

Interesting take. I've heard him 3 times say the trade will include pick 7 and Essendon won't accept the pick being split. No ambivalence involved. The more I hear him talk, the less disappointed I am he is gone. The new regime have started strongly and I'm keen to see them proceed from here.
  29. B

    Bluemour Melting Pot XXVI

I agree but it's not their decision. He's contracted. He goes where he wants or he stays.
  30. B

    Bluemour Melting Pot XXVI

Not that I think we're chasing Treloar but IMHO, what GC offer is irrelevant. If Collingwood want to offload him, it's his choice where he goes or he stays at the Pies for 900K per season. Collingwood can't tell him he's unwanted and then choose the best result for them. If he doesn't want to go...
