    Roast Channel 7

Just saw the ad for this Saturday's game. Apparently Carlton are trying to make it 4 in a row. Could have sworn there was another team in that match trying the exact same bloody thing

    Price Increases

Currently price rises do not come into effect until a player has played 3 games and this gives players who did not pick a particular rookie (or premium I guess) a two week window to jump on board. I've been thinking that maybe this should be changed so that price increases start occurring after...

    Best Team Names

I took my team name from a Futurama quote: Leela: Fine, you be crummy Universe "A", and we'll be Universe "1". Fry: Yeah, or the Mongooses, that's a good team name. "The Fighting Mongooses." Have been 'Fighting Mongooses' for 4 seasons now

If you can't split em, pick the one that suits your bye strategy best.

    2012 Player/s X v Player/s Y

Finally a question that interests me! I'd say 5 defence premiums, since there are an abundance of forward rookies, and not so many defence rookies with good scoring potential AND job security.

    2012 Player/s X v Player/s Y

Heppell Hanley Burgoyne Duffield I think Heppell and Hanley can definitely improve their average. - Hird has said Heppell is in store for more midfield time and he has superb skills. - Hanley's international rules series highlighted him as a ball magnet. - Burgoyne will probably maintain...

Matches we are looking forward to in 2012

I'm not particularly happy that we only have a 4 day turnaround before Anzac Day. Collingwood do too, but they have Port the previous week meaning they will rest half their side. We have Carlton the week before and I'll not be happy if we don't take a full side into that match - can't stand...

    Cash Cow Strategies?

Salary cap only applies to your starting team. After that, any increase in value is yours to keep whether you trade a player down (to gain cash) or trade a player up (spending cash). Or you can hold on to the player and hope they go up in value even more. Usually with rookie players their...

Mega Thread 2012 Official Trade and Delisting discussion

Re: Dangerfield? He is probably expecting a big season which will push up his value and give him a bigger contract. If he signs now he will only get what he's currently worth, whereas by the end of the season he could be worth a hell of a lot more. I imagine Hurley is in the same boat.

    Supercoach/Dreamteam questions thread

He may occasionally get shut down roles in defense, so probably isn't worth picking up in SC/DT.

    2012 SC Defenders

I wouldn't worry too much about starting with Round 11 premiums. You'll have enough Round 11 rookies that you should be able to cover yourself during Rounds 12 & 13, because you aren't going to trade them all out. If you keep your 8th & 9th defenders/forwards as Round 11 rookies you'll be...

I'm also hesitant on Newman due to his reduced preseason (or so I've read somewhere). I may still pick Deledio in DreamTeam, but I'll stay away from him in SuperCoach. I like other premium backline options in Shaw, Birchall, etc.

    Competitions AFL Dream Team 2012

Impromptu, what do you think of some of the other so called 'locks' for this year? A lot of people seem to think Deledio is a lock. I would be wary if he moved into the midfield myself. He's spent years getting easy ball off half back, but if he's expected to win his own ball in the middle I...

    2012 Player/s X v Player/s Y

Tough one. As has been mentioned Heppell has bulked up heaps. Hanley is one who improved heaps in 2011. And then racked up the numbers in the International Rules series (if that's any indicator). I expect Heppell to average mid 90s, and Hanley to average around high 80's to 90. I'm saving...

    DT Defenders 2012

I got the feeling he had a blinder last year cos he was playing for a contract extension. I expect his average to drop by 5-10 points now he has a new one. He may still be in the top 7 defenders, but not worth picking up at this price.

    2012 Player/s X v Player/s Y

I'd stay away from rockliff for now. He's an unknown quantity. He may not be able to back up such an awesome season.
