Yeah my understanding is that tendonitis needs decreased loading with strengthening exercises and reduction in pain/inflammation before gradual increase of loading. Hence the blown out time frame.
Yeah interesting to see the red time goals in the last 2 weeks v the first 4 weeks. We have definitely changed that trend of letting the oppo get 3-4 quick goals to really suck morale before the quarter break.
Only my view but that non-50 was huge. Would have had the Crows shooting at goal from 15 odd out. And the Draper ending well I think thats been discussed. Genuine lack of 50/50's I thought going Crows way late not paid.
The umpiring in that game was very pro Essendon. There was a blatant 50 where an Essendon player did what Harley did against the Swans no call. Also a lot of no-calls down the stretch that I thought quite a few of were there culminating with Draper trying to hatch the footy and nothing.
Yeah thats my view of him to. Bascially if he's getting ball it's likely Freo are winning the ground ball and he's cherry picking.
Hough probably a good call.
If backflips is getting the ball it means they are dominating in other areas though. As no way he find the footy himself.
Or has he changed this season?
Reporters at team announcement:
"Simmo you went with Gary Johnston this week... what's the thinking there?"
Simmo:
"Let me tell you what kind of Gary is..."
I was thinking it would be good if Ryan stayed down and become a crumber. He'll still be good above his head on the lead. Just dont need him trying to sit on peoples heads and getting injured.
The rule is that it's the biggest penalty possible. So if you abuse the ump after a goal in your forward line it will go back to the middle for the free kick to be taken. In Freo's instance the biggest penalty is obviously directly in front of goal.
Effort around the ground was a real positive. Team was in a game of footy that will move them forward with their development as they understand what it takes to compete.
Reids effort was unbelievable. Someone mentioned it before but it had the same feeling as the NN v the Hawks. Swans are...
Also was a play at half forward when we fluffed one of our forays forward. the ball went to space and Ginbey was outnumbered in a 2 on 1 and he held them up with great effort to get to the footy and scrap and make a contest of it. In the end he gave away an in the back free kick but he held them...
That's a 50/50 decision the player has to make as the player with the footy will just keep going if you don't run at them. The overlap has been created and if you can effect the quality of the disposal down the ground from there then you should.
If you hang back player joggs down with no...
Watching their boofhead leaders eat each other and have these bold ideas of what football was like in the golden days for Essadon and them trying to get back there... it's fantastic.
Yeah I would say we are disorganised and haven't learned where to be etc which means... what you don't have in your brain you make up for with your legs.
Numbers looked good. They don't tell the whole story but I felt last year teams were able to waltz out of the middle as well as from half back. In that game they were only able to waltz it from half back. Problem with that is we got the ball out of the middle more which meant they had more ball...
Surprised it's taken this long. I had always assumed stuff like this happened and was not surprised when Demetriou came out and admitted that players were being given chances to avoid the AFL's illicit drugs policy which he did so as the Essendon saga was revealing itself to bury it no doubt...
Was a much better game from Duggan than last week.
I read in another thread that Kelly's defensive running picked up which I must say I hadn't noticed. But I noticed the first goal to GWS where he was just cruising into the D50 without committing to help his teammates. Good to hear it may have...
Thats good he must've got a rocket.
As the first goal that GWS got was easy for them due to him not getting back and cruising just inside the D50 on the same side of the ground watching that play unfold without getting back.
Interesting game. 1st quarter showed a new energy and you know what the first thing to kill that momentum was? A co-captain giving away a stupid free for cannoning into the back of the opposition for no real reason other than lack of discipline.
People getting down on Gaff. I didnt expect much...
People thinking Gaff possessions are better than no possessions. I would argue him not killing our momentum when we do have it is better than his dinky little chip sideways and trudge off into the background. David King highlighted it last year that he was that momentum killer and there was also...
