LOL @ 2p2 post:

Does anyone remember the 06 world series main even, where Hachem made it deep? He raises with AK and someone goes all in, he tanks and says, "No one folds this hand. No one!" He eventually lays it down face up and the all-in guy shows AQ, then Hachem storms out of the room! :D

Current Chip Counts:

1. Gus Hansen ($20,885,000)
2. David Chiu ($4,570,000)
3. John Roveto ($1,810,000)

Will be Gus' 4th WPT title if he takes it down. Pretty damn impressive.

Re: WPT Season 6 Results

Seems I jinxed him. Chiu wins after grinding Hansen down heads up.

Final hand:

Gus Hansen has the button, he raises to 750,000, and Chiu calls. The flop comes Ac10c8s, Chiu checks, Hansen bets 900,000, and Chiu calls. There is already 3.35 million in the pot.

The turn card is the 5s, Chiu bets 1.2 million, and Hansen thinks for about 30 seconds before he moves all in for 8,675,000. After nearly two minutes of counting out his own chips, Chiu says, "I call."

The crowd leaps to their feet, waiting to see their cards. Gus Hansen shows 10s8h for two pair, while David Chiu shows As9s for a pair of aces with a flush draw. Chiu needs an ace, a nine, a five, or any spade to win the tournament right here.

The river card is -- the Ah!

The crowd cheers in surprise as David Chiu leaps in celebration, and quickly gets his hand on a Chinese flag that he waves near the table.

After the initial excitement of the hand wears off, the audience stands in stunned silence. Gus Hansen walks over to David Chiu as if he is in a daze.

Gus Hansen finishes in second place, earning $1,714,800. He'll have to wait for his fourth WPT title.

Results:

1. David Chiu ($3,389,140)
2. Gus Hansen ($1,714,800)
3. John Roveto ($923,355)
4. Cory Carroll ($593,645)
5. Tommy Le ($395,725)
6. Jeff King ($263,815)

Gus busted every player at the table, with the exception of Chiu, who rarely played a hand until heads up.

Re: WPT Season 6 Results

What a joke the WPT Champs was. Down to heads-up after only 22 hands.

Gus had his unfair share of rivers, so it was only fitting he lost to David Chiu with a river.

After 27 hands, the chip count was:
Gus Hansen - 23,695,000
David Chiu - 3,570,000

After 71 hands, the chip count was:
Gus Hansen - 20,675,000
David Chiu - 6,600,000

After 80 hands, David Chiu was the winner.

This must be one of those moments where finishing 2nd and winning USD $1,714,800 is somewhat disappointing.
