Clayton said that last years draft was the latest watershed draft, after the Murphy, Hahn, Gia draft. He was on the edge of taking Harbrow before Lynch.

So far Harbrow has exceeding my most optimistic expectations. Lynch also had a real presence today, this win will be a huge memory for himself and his community in the tiwi islands.

They round out our running team well. I was so impressed with these guys, both made game changing tackles, they both have elite agility and act like they belong on stage.

Both seem to possess a desire to tackle and run hard, very promising. Harbrow seem to like getting his hands dirty (which we need) and Lynch could be a real excitement machine.

I still reckon Hill for some reason will be the best.

I want to see Stack too.

Andrejs will be a player make no mistake. So it could be a watershed draft for us, fopefully anyway.

Hill has been doing some good things for Werribee, as for Andrejs, you know you're on a winner when a 17 year old rocks up to your club, can kick 55 metre drop punts in pre-season and slaughters all and sundry in the 2's. Although I haven't seen much of Stack, I think that we've done very very well in the last draft, and as for Harbrow, how he made it to the second round of the rookie draft beggars belief.

Reminded me of the pre-season game against the swans, great to them them step up so quickly, very exciting. The young guys are really adding alot to the team.

I also rate Hill's upside more than the other 2 but I am unsure whether he has the same determiniation and application. Will be intersting watching his devlopment.
Interesting point. He looks very lacksadasical (sp?), but im unsure whether his application is lower or thats how the boy is, quite nonchalont (sp?).

is hill that good?:D with lynch and harbrow and add everitt with stack gee what a good draft well done clayton

Don't forget about young O'Shea either. For a very bottom age kid, he's been doing ok in the C's. Looks a worthwhile prospect for a few years time for sure.

Lets face it if these guys were playing for Essendon or Collingwood, the media would be barring up. They are sensational and the best thing about their games is that they are not afraid to chase and tackle.

how did lynch go? (having not seen the game, I know stats can be deceptive) but according to the age he had 10 possies, 4 of which were clangers and he kicked no goals. laid 2 tackles.

Im not sticking the boot into the kid, but its hardly enough to keep robbo out, is it?

He looked very promising. Got better as the game went on. Linked up with Harbrow on more than one occasion. Backs his ability and looks to play on at every opportunity. His disposals (kicking) hang the air a bit, similar to Harbrow, having said that he executed a lovely pass to johnno. Lots of upside to him. Puts a lot of defensive pressure on. He is very quick.

Personally, I had been disturbed with direction the football department had been taking over the course of the season so far.

After having received the latest copy of The Bulldog, it has put into perspective a bit more. Rockets article was about recruiting and putting more games into young players. It appears he was excited about our rookies as much as the actual drafted players. As our depth is ok, I reckon a few players have already had their passes stamped and will be traded or delisted at the end of the year and most of the rookies will be senior listed.

Rocket obviously has more confidence in the younger players ability to take us to the next level, as opposed the current crop, which could be argued have picked up bad habits over the years.

Having said all that, I was happy with Harbrows chasing & tackling, we really need more of that, and Lynch gives us a bit of that "x" factor that we also need.

well those players that have been on our list where from roade or wallace now eade is building his own list that he thinks can go all the way, and i love the fact that we have so many young players in our side performing is great, and that we're still winning.

I tend to agree that Eade has made his mind up about a few guys. One thing he said when he got to the doggies was that he would give everyone a chance to prove themselves. Its not surprising that some guys have been cut - K-Mac, Wiggo, Bowden, Birss and others have risen to the challenge, Gilbee, West, Cross, McMahon, Gia etc.

Eade's approach all along with Rookies has been that there is no point in drafting or having them if they are not remotely capable of being part of the team's future. Whilst some like Morris and Harbrow have come off the list and stepped straight into the team, I think others like Hughes or West even are there to see if they will respond to Eade's coaching. Lets hope they do!

Thats what Im saying.......

I was annoyed that players like Cam Faulkner couldnt get a game when he was playing so well for Werribee, but now I can understand the direction in which we are going.

Eade has shown in his short tenure a tendancy to fast track the new recruits at the expense of other more senior players. All of Higgins, Addison, Harbrow and Lynch have been fast-tracked into the senior side when it was almost least expected. All were not performing exceedingly well at Werribee when they made there debuts, but all have performed quite adequately at the senior level. Eade gives them a chance, its up to the individual to grasp it, so far they have.
