Adelaide Crows FFFX

So the 2007 AFL Season is apon us. What a great year we have ahead of us. With West Coast winning the 2006 AFL Grand Final, beating the Swans by 1 point and a replay of the 2005 Grand Final, it was a great way to end a sensational 2006 AFL Campaign.

But that was last year, We begin a new year here in the AFL. We will be following the year of the Adelaide Crows.
They have the oldest list in the competition, so will Neil Craig Blood the youngsters and look to generate the new generation? Or will he have to rely on the regulars, the older players who have saved this club many of times before? It'll be interesting to see what happens.

Re: Adelaide Crows FFFX

Well the Adelaide Crows will kick of their 2007 AFL NAB Cup Campaign against Arch Town Rivals in the Port Adelaide Football Club.
This will kick start the season off for both teams, and they will both be looking to grab the win, and see if they can get some bragging rights of being better then their Arch Rivals.

Adelaide come in with a very experienced line-up. They are extremely confident that they can win this competition. They aren't resting their stars. McLeod, Ricciuto, Goodwin, Edwards are all playing, so they are keen to get some football back into these players after a long break, and see if they can get some fitness together before the proper season begins.

Andrew McIntyre and Bryce Campbell are the only Adelaide players playing tonight who hasn't played a Senior game. The rest have played on the big stage before, which shows how determied the Crows are in winning this match.

Port Adelaide come in with a experienced side aswell. Port are young, but they have had experience with playing with each other for a couple of years now, so they know all their team mates weaknesses and strenghts. It'll be interesting to see who comes out the winner in this match. It's hard to pick at the moment, both teams are near full strength.

Re: Adelaide Crows FFFX

Power open NAB Cup with a victory.

Port Adelaide have won their opening NAB Cup match against the Adelaide Crows at Aami Stadium last night. The Power, snapping a 6 point victory to get over the line against the gallant Crows outfit, to head into the 2nd round of the NAB Cup competition.

It was a entertaining match right from the centre bounce. It was a very low scoring 1st term by both teams. Only 3 goals were scored in the 1st quarter, and in-accurate kicking from the Crows saw them kick 3 behinds for the quarter to trail by 7 points at Quarter time. It was a much more open affair in the 2nd Quarter. Port Adelaide scored heavily to kick away with a comfortable lead at Half time. Port Adelaide kicked 6 goals to the Crows 2 in the 2nd Term, to lead by 28 points at the main change.

Adelaide hit back in the 3rd quarter. Port only managaed just the 1 goal for the term, as the Crows dominated the field of play and banged on 4 goals, to have a light trail at the 3rd change. Adelaide fought hard in the last quarter kicking 5 goals, but the Power just held on kicking 5 goals themselves in a very exciting and fast finish to the match. Port Adelaide scrapping home by 6 points, to head into the 2nd week of the NAB Cup.

Nathan Lonie was a star for the Power across half back, picking up 31 possesions, while the 2 Cornes boys played their best football, both ending up with high 20 possesions. While Brett Burton was clearly the Crows best player, kicking 3 goals and having 30 possesions from the Half Foward line.

Posts from a couple of days ago with previews of games long gone. I thought it may be some fantasy league or something but it doesn't make sense. Please explain it.

2 Crows to miss.

Jason Porplyzia and Scott Stevens will miss the next match for the Adelaide Crows after both players were suspended by the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday night.

Scott Stevens, the tall defender for the Crows has been suspended for just the 1 match, after striking Damien Peverill. Stevens did a front on hit to Peverill, but it was limited contact to the head, and Peverill came out ok. The AFL Tribunal have been tough on this rule over the past 2 years, but Stevens manager pleaded the case and bought the suspension down to 1 match.

Jason Porplyzia was worse off. Porplyzia, the up and coming half forward flanker for the Crows, will miss the next 3 weeks, after he striked David Hille across the neck. Both Hille and Porplyzia were after the ball, coming in different directions. Porplyzia was fearce in his approach, and struck Hille across the neck, which saw Hille come off the ground at half time.

Jason Porplyzia will have to sit out for 3 weeks after being suspended by the AFL Tribunal

Adelaide fall to disaster

The Adelaide Crows have fallen to the kicking disease. The Crows only kicked 3 goals for the whole match against the Western Bulldogs at the MCG in their Round 2 clash. The Crows, kicked 17 behinds for the match, which saw locals restless and annoyed.
Very in-accurate kicking, and there was hardly any wind to speak off. The Crows coach Neil Craig told the Herald Sun, he was dissapointed with the way we kicked for goal, and we will be working on our goal kicking in the future.

Ricciuto to miss a fortnight.

Adelaide Crows Captain Mark Ricciuto will have to sit on the sidelines for the next 2 weeks and watch his side, after he was found guilty by the tribunal of the AFL for headbutting Lindsay Gilbee in last Sunday's clash at the MCG against the Western Bulldogs.

Ricciuto was reported in the last quarter on Sunday by field umpire, Hayden Kennedy as a contest was in play. Ricciuto purposly went head first into Gilbee's head, which saw the young half back for the Dogs come off the ground with a cut eye. So Ricciuto will have to sit on the sidelines for 2 weeks, and he joins, Jason Porplyzia and Scott Stevens as being suspended Crows in 07.
