Re: OFFICIAL: Brent Prismall to Essendon for pick 39

Prismall would be playing more regular senior football at GFC if he is a gun.

Sellwood is a gun after 2 years and he plays every week.

Prismall may become a gun ( although I doubt it ) but should be a good footballer.

I am a bit worried about Stanton, Lovett and Prismall in the same team.

ESSENDON: DON'T RUSH HIM BACK FROM HIS KNEE INJURY !!!

I really hope they give him a stack of time to recover from the injury and don't try and prove that he was great value for pick 39

The picks of significance are the top 25 of which we've got 2, so I don't think there's too much to worry about.

I don't think we would've found a player of Prismall's ability at 39, so I don't think there's too much to complain about.
Dont forget that EFC has finished 11th or best for the last few years. In other words we have been cellar dwellars.

Clubs were reluctant to trade ( 6 trades ) because it is considered a strong draft.

EFC has potentially drafted well in the last 3 years and IMO need to have another 2 strong drafts in 2008 and 2009.

Ideally, I would have liked to have an extra 1 or 2 draft picks in 2009, as EFC have drafted well with late selections in recent times.

I am not ANT555, but i thank every god/buddah/deity/system lord etc...that we did not get Farren Ray......a very average footballer.

But he had no time to develop in the afl?

Selwood was just lucky. not to mention the fact he won Rising Star almost secured him a place this year.

Re: OFFICIAL: Brent Prismall to Essendon for pick 39

i am rapt that we picked brent up. he is a good hard working honest kid with heaps of potential. have followed his progress since he was a junior. he is from werribee where i'm based. was a gun through junior ranks and it was a shame he lacked opportunity at geelong. however im sure knighta will give him the time he deserves. his younger brother rhys is a pretty handy player as well.

*two thumbs up*

Happy with picking up Prismall and not losing Lovett and not getting O'Keefe.

Can't wait to see him play. I think I'll need to wait a few years before knowing if we got a real bargain, but sounds like we might have.

Pick 39 for Prismall is a good get for us. At first I was worried about giving up pick 23 or a straight swap for lovett.

Welcome to Windy Hill Brent.

Thats is currently being looked after, and with some luck should add Hurley on draft day to continue its development.

Prismall is a great pickup, as mentioned, he hasnt had a chance to establish himself within the Geelong midfield due to Selwood's rapid rise.

Prismall, assuming when he comes back everything is right with his knee will slot straight into our midfield.

When will Prismall be fit after doing his knee?

Good get for your forwardline and midfield if he can get on the park as part of your rotations.
