With Cousins injury woes in the foreground of Richmond supporters mind, how will those who followed their champion to Richmond deal with their hero being a broken down mess?
Will these weak minded peons come crawling back, or will they cling to the 'strength and bravery' that Richmond had to draft Cousins?
Cousins is done. Many predictions have been fulfilled. He will be lucky to play 8 games this year.
Then what for these turncoats? Then what for Richmonds membership if they don't rapidly improve?
And to the turncoats, please enlighten us to your circumstances.

I doubt that very much, how many went to Richmond?.

Are you kidding? The talkback radio was filled with former WC supporters denouncing their Eagles allegiance to support Richmond because of dear Benny.

But they have always had a large number of fickle supporters the Coasters - drop off when they are struggling, first one in line when they are flying......

Ahh ok then sorry didn't hear all that.

Quite often it's the old cootes who cry foul as soon as something they don't get their way happens.

I'm more than happy for them to stay the **** away from us, so long as they don't jump back on when they realise how stupid they are.

I haven't heard a single person say that Cousins was "our hero". BeatleSmith, perhaps you should get into fiction writing, you're obviously good at it.
I'm fairly sure he was referring to the ex-Eagle supporters, not the legit Tiger fans.

Suck shit Mastablingbling. You are a no good waste of space and the joy that ran through me when i heard about Cousins was brilliant.
+1.
wce4premiership i believe also announced that he loved cousins more than WC. He didn't move to supporting Richmond, but the point still stands.

the age of many of WC supporters is a godsend. When the impatient old cootes die/stop renewing memberships, the faithful who have stayed on the waiting list will come in, more passionate and certainly more informed.

It's funny, I had to drive down to Freo this morning and there's was some old lady going on saying that we need to get Cousins back to go anywhere blah blah blah!! I can't believe people are still going on about it. Unfortunately I think he's gonna struggle and our club needs to move forward. For those that jumped ship to Richmond, good riddance! You can follow Benny whilst he's sitting on the sidelines for the next month!

While I don't understand it myself, I think getting a team in your home town is one of the two acceptable times its OK to swap sides.

Re: Stereophonic & Glory & Fame = celtic_pride

Only times it's acceptable to swap sides

1) Your club ceases to exist or merges
2) You are too young to make up your mind for yourself
3) A local team is created (i'm a bit iffy on this one, i wouldn't change)
4) You play, or a family members plays, for a different club

Everyone else is pretty low.

I would laugh if anyone started going for Brisbane because of Fev.

How bout barracking for both though.

I find it very hard to understand how someone can completely abandon their original team of choice. All the history you've experienced out the window.

Got me stuffed...

You're right, we do have a lot of idiotic supporters(the old nuffies that yell 'kick it!' every time an Eagle gets the ball), but we've actually reached our highest membership on record this year despite spending two years in the gutter.

Wouldn't you feel dirty though barracking for two teams? Or maybe you only had a passing interest in the interstate team, and now you've got your own team to really get 100% behind?

1. Agreed
2. Not sure I follow your reasoning on this, is there an age where this isn't acceptable?
3. Agreed.
4. I'd be even more strict than that. You or your son and its acceptable. If my brother ever played for Richmond, all he'd ever get for xmas is a sack of chicken manure with a card addressed to "Traitor"

Gee i don't know. Its a tough one but i sure as hell couldn't let go of my original team. I think you could probably go for both just as passionately but who to go for when they are playing each other is another story alltogether.

Im just glad im not in that position. Another one to ponder is what if you move interstate or move down to Geelong or something like that. My mrs reckons you never change your stripes. I think she is right on this one.

I think it was agreed on that 10 was the cutoff age.
