Good Luck. I don't think Sydney will be playing any finals in a while.

I found this interesting

He says you don't really want to leave the club that gives you a start, but the news after tradeweek was that he was going to leave no matter what.

I certainly laughed at the title.

Presumably he means he didn't want to leave but felt he needed to to take advantage of the 3 year deal and greater player opportunity that he wouldn't get at Hawthorn.

Re: McGlynn wants to help Swans build to a flag
When you read 'McGlynn played 44 games in four seasons with the Hawks, but managed just three in the club’s premiership year of 2008.' it implies he wasn't given a chance in '08..... they neglect to say he was actually injured.
As for “The weather’s a lot better" in Sydney comment, that is obviously coming from somebody who hasn't actually lived there.
McGlynn will fit in really well at Sydney, he is an Adam Schneider doppelganger, they should be able to give him all Adams old kit.

Re: McGlynn wants to help Swans build to a flag
IMO the guy seems to care more about game time than winning or losing. Better off not at Hawthorn

He didn't say anything against Hawthorn (but probably could have) - good luck to benny - there is no doubt in my mind he put 100% into every game he played for us.
Some posters should get a grip on it!!

Re: McGlynn wants to help Swans build to a flag
Always liked Benny Mac. Gritty, hungry little angry ant. Was only going to be a good depth player for us, only called into the side when injuries allowed, and even then surely to be overtaken by the new blood coming through anyhow. Admittedly his kicking wasn't too flash, but he made up in other areas and still it went mostly unappreciated by a fair swathe of posters here. (Any thought that he being constantly singled out and slagged on forums like this had anything to do with his decision to leave?)
Why then wouldnt he leap at a 3yr contract and a chance to play seniors?
Ahhhh. Enough of the nostalgia. Hes gone to the swine, and it sickens me (though not so much as K3). I can't bring myself to wish him any luck in this capacity, but I cant lay the boot into the guy - just yet anyhow!
The time is coming and I wont be treading on eggshells just because hes a former Hawk. He was slagged mercilessly when he gave his all for us, so now when hes actually deserving of this kind of treatment, I will in time be delivering with interest.
Im getting an attack of the Zacs just thinking what these 2 at the swans are going to do. Bagging a flag won't be one of them though.

Good on him, hope he keeps up the good work. Admire the way he goes about it, will be a real asset to the Swans but probably wouldn't get a game for us at the moment..such is life. Can't see him been on the dias come seasons end with them but at least he'll contribute 100% every week for them...he's gone to the perfect fit for him and will do well..I'll watch with interest... win/win for both clubs

Re: McGlynn wants to help Swans build to a flag
Good luck to him, He's one who really deserves to win a premiership one day, While his skills are average, he makes up for it with his work rate and general aggression and you would automaticly assume he's put in 100% effort on the field every time
