It would probably be the AA in Glass
This is a tough question as people will bring forth stats, but I think there is so much more to be taken into the equation, such as how often the ball is getting pumped inside 50, what the other defenders supporting the full back are like etc.
Dustin Fletcher has always been my favorite player. The way he can cover ground, get to a contest and completely kill it. His long penetrating kicks which set up attacks, the odd screamer and the many defensive jobs his done over his career.
Even though he had a good season last year, the fact that our midfield has been poor in recent times and our defensive stocks have been limited have kind of taken the luster off his legacy. His always been a champion player, at times he has beaten everyone, from Dunstall to Lockett to Carey, to Modra to Kernahan, to the forwards of today. The guy has been pretty brilliant over his career and an All Australian Best and Fairest year in the most successful year ever by a team (2000) is a testament to him.
Whilst I think the likes of Glass, Rutten, Leo Barry and Clement are all very good players, they still have a while to go IMO to get close to Fletch. The guy is just as capable as he ever has been, just needs more support, hopefully Mal will provide that.

Personally i think it's glass, he is often left with 1 on 1 contests and constantly has the speed and strength to foil opposition forwards.

If we are talking about 06 season it's Glass. If we are talking multiple seasons from the past. It has to be Scarlett, Clement is the only backmen in the league with a comparable record.
If we are talking about 07 it is open more to opinion. You can bet your house that Scarlett will be an AA contender. I am not as sure about Glass, Rutten, Caroll and Fletcher.

if you have watched any Eagles games live you would see clearly that Glass is the best full-back in the comp purely based on the fact that he is more often than not left one-out in the forward fifty and much more often than not he wins the contest.
