He is a sweeping HBF, that's not his job, ableit the fact we have a few of his type, I reckon he had a decent year.

Re: next years team
Let's hope that the maggoos put some decent pressure on the firsts to really keep firing every week. This year we only really had pressure on the forward pocket/midfield position when hughes, moran and hutchy should have been pushing for KP selection with Thommo, Gibbo and Haley injured, Hay gone and Brown struggling.
Here's what I'd like to see
Starting 22
B: Pratt - Gibbo - Thompson
HB: Hansen - Petrie - Riggio
C: Wells - Harris - JWS
HF: CJ - Tarrant - McMahon
FF: Azza - Thommo - Harvey
R: McIntosh - Firrito - Swallow
Bench: Hale, Lower, Simmo, Sinkers
Emerg: Campbell, Brown, Thomas
Struggled with Thomas vs McMahon eventually went with McMahon on his kicking.
Riggio and Thompson will rotate based on match-ups. If Thompson is no good then Watt comes back into the team.
Petrie is the general at half back, stick him there and watch him get AA.
Firrito into the middle as the chief tagger. I'm sure Rawlings is a top bloke and he works his arse off but, like Watt, just a class below what we need. We can afford 1 poor kick from our midfield and he is our captain.
Sinkers, Simmo, Boomer and Lower to rotate through the middle.
Hansen starts up back but able to rotate with McMahon or even CJ if the match-ups aren't right.
Thommo can play CHF or FF but coming back from a knee I would put him at FF and trial Tarrant or Josh Smith at CHF. This leaves Azza with the third tall, McMahon and CJ free to run amok, both can still put forward line pressure on the defenders.
Brown, Campbell and Thomas can play but they should be putting runs on in the seconds. I know everyone bagged Sansbury but at least he forced his way into the team through reasonable VFL performances.
Shagga has played below average for two years. Harding, Sansbury and Power are insurance (not sure what for)
Hope we can see a few of the kids do a Hamish and take the season by the scruff. I'm hoping Riggio and Thomas can both step up, with Hansen getting more games in the firsts than the seconds. Ben Ross and Davis should be ready to play this year and I'd expect Adams, Urquhart, Greenwood and Warren to get half a dozen games between them.
Goldy may have a way to go.
I'm pretty excited by our 2008, especially now we have a few X-Factors like Thomas and Hansen getting a full pre-season and a couple of gorrillas on the sidelines. Bring on the footy!

Nothing too much wrong with that side although I'd change Thomson (S) and Petrie around and I think the days of Hale at CHF are over.
Hale to the bench as the second ruck and Hansen to rotate with Edwards and Thommo through FF, CHF, HFF.
Only 6 players over 25 in that side.
Shagger (Getting on, losing pace, played too far from goal), Hale (Not delivering enough) and Gibbo ( A bit in between in size and pace, although he does have points in the bank) look the possible vulnerable players to me.
They had all better stand up as a lot of good kids are starting to come through.
McMahon is stiff, Greenwood looks the goods and Adams and Riggio must get senior games next year.
Goldy will be blowing a gale down Hales neck by seasons end.
I actually think 2008 may be Shaggers last year, Simmo to follow in 2009, then Thommo in 2010, Sinclair and Boomer likely in 2011.
We are starting to shape as a very young side.

He goes sideways or backwards far too often, lost count of the number of times we conceded goals because he didn't go forward, also puts his team mates under a lot of pressure when he goes backwards, it is often not creative switching play but more panic and it doesn't rack up as an error to him despite the bad decisions put his team mates in suicidal positions.
We need more guys that will run and carry the ball forward out of defence and not turn it over in the process.
