And the North Melbourne midfielder can't wait to show off his new acquisition at Arden St.
"I've had plenty of advice from the other fathers," Harris said.
"You can't really do much in the first six weeks, but then they start recognising who you are. Once that happens you'll just love it and I can't wait to take him down to the club.
"I was there for the birth and my wife, Adele, did a fantastic job. It's an amazing feeling and I'm rapt they're both healthy."
Harris has not missed a session throughout pre-season. He has adapted well to juggling training with changing nappies.
He said the whole group was looking fit.
"There are a lot of young blokes coming through who'll play straight away," Harris said.
"Robbie Tarrant and Levi Greenwood have impressed and Ben Ross is in his second year now and he's going well. And all the old warhorses are moving well. Thommo's (Nathan Thompson) back and training strongly.
"I'm no longer one of the young guys at the club. This is my second year in the leadership group and my eighth season so hopefully we'll step it up a bit.
"I've been lucky enough to train every session and where we'll improve is the core guys coming through."
