This isn't a troll or anything but am genuinely interested as to why Carltons numbers seem pretty low considering they are coming off 2 finals appearances and have had very good attendance numbers.

As always, the actual figure is irrelevant but the revenue generated by membership sales is. If Hawthorn has exhausted its highest category (and subsequently most expensive) memberships, then I really don't mind if the figure is 25k or 39k as it supposedly is. The Maggies off the back of a premiership have probably already exhausted all its allocation of top-price memberships, which is a superb achievement whichever way you look at it.

We are always slow starters cos our packages are usually released a mth of so after most other clubs, we currently well ahead where we were last year and we still managed 40k last season

Ha, that is the first time we've had 13k before Xmas. Before that was in 07/08 when our highest before Xmas was 10k.

Really happy with Ports numbers, looking at our best figures to date since at least 2007-2008 and should hit 35,000 Members at this stage.

Our peak membership sale period is Jan-Mar. Our pre-christmas membership sales figures:

2005: 6,555 (24,154)
2006: 5,718 (24,624)
2007: 4,289 (22,376)
2008: 13,419 (34,342) *GC fiasco year*
2009: 7,327 (30,613)
2010: 10,009 (29,272)
2011: 13,218 *22/12*

2007 our side wasn't that bad, made the PF that year but Laidley had rung the lost drop he could have got from the like of Grant, Rocca, etc. That combined with the GC drama saw an unnatural surge late in 2007 which artificially boosted the position in 2008.

But, when you account for the decline in the side with rebuilding the side post 2007 and the general low expectation on performance, despite that there has been a health trend towards the increase in membership. Figures pre 2008 also included interstate home game memberships which of course count for nothing as games are sold on fixed returns.

We also only introduced 3 games memberships very late last year and haven't aggressively pushed the automatic renew memberships.

Despite that, I think there is positive growth which I think will continue to grow should our on-field position continue to improve.

Think the on field success determines the band wagoner element in any club. Play in the finals and the next year generates more interest and pushes those who are uming and arhging into buying up.

What will be an acceptable figure for you guys this year Tas ?

Essendon finished in the bottom four and are still 7,000 up of this time last year. Then again we do have the Hird factor..

Gold Coast are doing very well for a new club. If they can manage a bit of success, they'll easily get 30,000 members in Year 2. I wonder how many are ex-Lions supporters? Collingwood have probably sold all of their Legend memberships, whilst Essendon is flying due to the Hird\Thompson factor.

10,000 members is indeed a wonderful effort. I predict they will nudge 18k before Round 1 and will pass 20k by June 30. They are doing a fine job at the moments and will only continue to do well.

I doubt it given their ground only holds 25k and they wouldn't have more than a handful of interstate members. Their local membership will be capped at about 22k.
It has surprised me how well their memberships are selling given they seem pretty expensive. They should surpass 15k comfortably, and could well have a waiting list in a couple of years.

Brisbane are looking steady on recent years, and when you take into that they had a bad season this year it is a very good sign. Almost 10,000 more members of Queensland clubs than this time last year :thumbsu:

They have standing room don't they? Would have to get atleast 30,000+ to have a waiting list, given 3 game memberships and general admission memberships.
