AFL is just too much of a niche sport. Imagine if Acclaim had had a budget similar to, say, FIFA 2005. It'd be unreal. But, cos not enough people would buy the game, we've had to put up with second-rate crappy versions of a sports sim. Never going to work, unfortunately.

Hey guys, just a quick note to let you know that the issues with Acclaim won't have any affect on AFL Live 2005.
Luckily we are insured against just this kind of thing happening.

After Acclaim stole my idea and did not give me a free game, I am extremely happy to see this company go under, except of course for the workers who will now struggle to feed their kids.

Well, with the size of the peice of pie EA holds in the gaming industry, you're gonna be missing out on a few decent games. Yes, the majority of games they release lick the sweat. But I wouldn't be wishing for them to go down.

Based on StrayPixel's posts we can expect a marked improvement on previous editions, but I'll wait till I have played it before passing judgement.
