Ive given the hot tip to all about Ivan Maric....... now its time for me to give another HOT TIP!

DEAN GALEA from Spotswood football club. Played last year at the western jets and is only still 18 years of age.
Won the goalkicking award (82 goals) this season from full forward, made the league best and fairest and was named full forward in the team of the year in only his 1st year of senior football. Not a bad effort hey?
Also played a few years with Dean and although i thought he was an arrogant pric* and goal hungry, always knew hed be something.
Stands about 186cm, weighs in at around 83kgs and has the best hands i have ever seen for a youngster (HONESTLY) his hands are as big as baseball mits. He played almost a 1/4 of the year as a ruck rover as well which makes his goal kicking achievement even more astonoshing.

doesn't mean he can't still be picked up in the draft or even rookie listed.

Yes, but to be drafted you must nominate. If he had nominated, wouldn't you wait till after the result of the draft before signing a contract with a VFL club?

I'll think you will find that Willy are hopeful or confident that either Collingwood will pick him up with a very late pick or most likely rookie list him.

He still qualified to play u/18's aswell which makes his achievements last year even bigger, probably a bit small to hold down a kp in the AFL, but should be a good player at VFL level.

Are you sure.
I think the WRFL have an 18 and a half rule which qualifies him for their under 18 comp....but not for the TAC cup.

He's 187cm according to the Port website. Has an amazing pair of hands on him. Would tear it up as a 3rd tall/hitup type.

65 goals for the season and finals is a damn good return, he isn't going to be a full forward at AFL level but he'd make a fairly good third tall as he has strong hands and is a reliable shot at goal.

He's Mitch Hahn in his prime at AFL level, and that's a best case scenario.

I don't think too many teams will be desperate for that type.

Have not watched him but is he a reliable kick at goal. If he is a third tall he must be able to make the most of his chances. 187 is short on paper but if one has talent they can find a way. Look at it this way , he is around the same height as Menzel and he is a kid , compared to a guy who should be more developed.

The thing that he would need to demonstrate would be the ability to be flexible , a 187 VFL forward will not spend 100% of time forward in the AFL.

May still get looked at by an AFL team very late in the draft as a mature age recruit.

6 goals 3 today, 17 possessions and 7 marks. Probably stiff not to get best on ground. Really looks like a good 3rd forward for sides, a solid lead up target with reasonable accuracy, and his hands are solid as a rock! Big chance to get drafted surely.
