Big screen stuff at home games

Anyone else find all the crap they put on the big screen at home games extra annoying and extra lame, or am I the only one?

Especially the "Power *insert fake lightning/clapping which is almost deafening* Power..." chant.

Yes, I'm glad you brought it up Macca, I and others have emailed the club and complained but I have never got a reply. I also brought it up on www.thepowerfromport.com

I have also spoken to someone at the club about it, and they have told me they have had many complaints but they will continue to do it for the rest of the year.
What they don't seem to understand is it dosen't add to the atmosphere but actually works the opposite as chants start up, but are then drowned out by what comes over the PA system.

It is a joke. Hoefully they take the hint and get rid of it asap. If anyone enjoys it then they have issues and they are probably Big Brother fans as well.

Seriously it is painful to watch. When Chocco comes on, I certainly feel inspired.

I dont mind the Choco stuff at the breaks (was funny last week with the 1/4 time "we just have to get that first goal), its the lame crap that comes on after a goal that is shocking. You cant hear the crowd cheer after a goal as they play the same song over the PA, then they do the crappy Power Power chant which drowns out the crowd actually trying to start it up.

I definitely found it cringeworthy last week. Come on, we aren't Crows supporters. We know cheerable moments and don't need a reminder to put down the knitting needles and clap.

Then why do you need sh-it like that on he screen. Adelaide games may have the ad-el-aide thingy go up, but there are no sound effects..Its a joke. The cheersquad are meant to do that, and they do f*ck all unless you are winning. They cop heaps of flack for their actions too from fans up the back.

And that blasted song they play after they get a goal, that also annoys the shi-t out of me. Anyone would think it was a game of twenty20 cricket. At least play a different song each time if you are going to do it.

And if you choose to play a quality song after a goal like Sunshine of your Love, play the original, not this remixed rubbish. One of the best songs of all time, and were getting this suspect version.

Any chance of some hard rock and metal music after goals.

I think if they come up with certain things to put up on the big screen that actually make us want to make noise, it would be good.. but what they are showing is way off the mark.

I must admit it gets pretty annoying.

Choko repeating himself at every break about the importance of next goal and finding the power within.

Its ok once but after that it gets lame.

I got invited to one of the corporate boxes for Gav's 300th so I thought it would be nice to pay the respects to the great man. Pitty the club couldn't do it for him

Yes, very much. Caused a fair bit of comment around us last night. Not synchronised with moments of actual excitement. Asks for excitement and cheers at moments we are so annoyed we are trying to stab ourselves to death with our car keys.

It's very American. Went to a couple of NBA games a couple of years back and it's almost identical. I appreciate that the club is trying to be innovative, but they need to realise when something isn't working.

Yes its all very amateurish, and not in touch with the crowd at all.

ed off when they cut into the club song as the team came onto the ground. People were singing and clapping, and then it cuts out to an announcer....people stop singing and clapping...then the rest of the song comes on having killed off some emotion.

Very amateurish.

I do not like it, but understand what the club is trying to achieve. Last night there were a few theatre goers at the game, including quite a few young'uns dressed like they were going nightclubbling - girls wearing not much and guys in t-shirts. Im sure these people, who are not traditional footy supporters, found the music and crap on the screen amusing, in fact, sitting near me were a group of girls in their late teens\ early 20's who were standing up and dancing whenever we kicked a goal.

Me, id prefer to be back at Alberton, standing on the old hill with a cold can in hand, swearing my head off at every opportunity, but unfortunatley times have changed.

Next year we will probably see disco lights and mirror balls

That was probably one of those tossers who were here last week bragging about how they were at the freo game with crow colours under their freo shirts or something.

What is that damm song clip they play? I mean the music between goals is great but they need to change it up a little and add some Jimmy Barnes or something of that caliber.

I don't like the music coming on after each goal either.

But if it attracts young kids and makes our club stronger then I will learn to live with it.

Ditto with the young kids dancing their way around the oval before the game.

I very much doubt music after a goal would attract any "new" people, if anything it might send a few back to the SANFL.

I have no problem with the kids dancing on the oval.
