Proud looks to be the more solid pick from what ive read. But benjamin could be anything so i would really like to see him at the club. Does anybody know if there will be any go home factor with Benjamin??

Re: Richmond Tigers Football Club.
I think we will take Riewoldt..unless Thorp or Sellar slip.
But is Riewoldt a genuine kpp or will he be a flanker at best?
Honestly even if he is big, but will only ever be a flanker,
I'd rather get Proud or Selwood. Hughes has heaps of potential,
Shulz hopefully with a pre-season can improve (being only 22), with
Richo holding down the other key forward position. If we make a play
for a KPP eg. Polak in trade week, I'd see no reason to pick-up Riewoldt...
Unsure of what the board are thinking but if Riewoldt IS a genuine KPP take him...if not get a gun mid eg. Selwood.

Re: Richmond Tigers Football Club.
i think tommy hislop, seen him play NTFL seniors since he was 15, down in tassie, he is so hard at the ball and a great tackler, will be good for richmonds midfield with johnson getting older, in the national u18 comp, he finished with 1 less ranking points then tom hawkins, who won the medal, excellent choice for richmond

Richo is not a factor in this draft. Drafting is about finding players for 4-5 years down the track. It is an enormous mistake to look at the 2007 team and recruit to fill gaps. This draft is about building the 2010 side.

Benjamin sounds quite JONish.
Runs 100 in 10.5; Wallace would be licking his lips.
12) Clinton Benjamin
Forward/Utility
187cms and 79kgs
27/7/88
Claremont (WA)
Huge disappointment in the U18s Carnival last year. Enormous wraps on him but was overall poor. The fact he was picked for the WA team a year before being eligible for the draft shows what the selectors thought of him.
Blindingly quick on a long lead he has pace to burn. Ran a 10.5 for the 100m at his school (not sure about the quality of the timing device) and he has some of the quickest first few steps you can imagine. Hits top speed and can hold it when the defender is unable to. Big leap and to see him get on a lead and take off for the ball is an awesome sight.
Good endurance and not just a sprinter. Struggled with the grounds for the Championships. Dew on them at times and his footing was unsure and never seemed to settle. More of an athlete rather than a footballer at this stage. Would be a bit like Sean Rusling from Collingwood drafted a year ago. Pacy smallish full forward with a big leap.
Would think Benjamin is that type of player but have seen him play down back and do well on bigger opponents and show himself to have all the skills.
Really could develop into anything with more experience. Will need to realise he will be a marked man and work harder on his game and to keep himself involved more. Not just be a mark and kick player.
Has to improve his work rate and to become smarter with his leading. The sort of player who may struggle for a position at AFL level if he stays at the current size. If he grows that 3 or 4 cms to go with the leap and speed he has got he will be a formidable package at full forward. Seems to have reasonable endurance but it is his speed and agility which sets him apart from almost everyone else.
If he develops the physical side to his game to go with his amazing athleticism he will be capable of anything. A bit of a project but taking his form at the U17 International Rules and form for Claremont he shows enough to be considered a first round prospect with his likely development.
A bit of an utility type who could play all over the ground but for me he needs to grow a bit and to be a leading forward to be worth this high a rating. If he does not then as a wing or flanker there are better and more complete candidates.

Re: Richmond Tigers Football Club.
F***. He shouldn't be playing football, he should be in the Australian running team.
I'd be happy with Proud, happy with Benjamin in reality with a top ten pick you are bound to get a player that will be a good player.

Re: Richmond Tigers Football Club.
Richmond will either get Joel Selwood, Leroy Jetta, or Jack Riewoldt.
Joel Selwood will be good cause he is an in and under player and would be able to feed the ball out to runners such as deledio.
Leroy Jetta would just be another addition to the midfield / small forward role. he has deadly skills and is quick.
Jack Riewoldt is a bit light on but pre season in the gym would do ok. can take a good grab and a good kick for goal.

Re: Richmond Tigers Football Club.
I seriously Hope richmond, pick up one of the Brown Brothers. They are both 194cm, and are bloody athletic. they can play in Key Positions, would be handy to the richmond side, seeing we need a KPP....hopefully we do pick one up

Re: Richmond Tigers Football Club.
Would it be out of the question for the Tigers to take the Brown Brothers in the draft. Lord knows we could do with some extra KPP types that would be ready in 2-3 years.
If not I would think Wallace would go after the best midfield type available in Round 1 as he has over the last 2 years. 2004 Deledio, Tambling, Meyer 2005 JON.

IMO if one (or both) of the Brown twins are available at our 3rd round pick...we would definately look at drafting one of them. We need tall KP defenders, and i think N. Brown would be fantastic...he can also push forward a kick some goals.
With our second selection however, we would still look at drafting one of them (Nathan more so than Mitch IMO), but that would depend on whether TW and Miller thought that Nathan is worth a pick this high, whether other potential draftees that richmond were targeting in the second round had already been selected and finally, whether they think Nathan will still be available at our 3rd round selection.
